We are not going to be able to operate our Spaceship Earth successfully nor for much longer unless we see it as a whole spaceship and our fate as common. It has to be everybody or nobody. ~ R. Buckminster Fuller
I’m interested in co-creating an interactive global UI / web app of the PIVX global network community.

UPDATE [March 27, 2017- 11:05 am] : first stage of funding fully provided by @grant!
extra was provided by @matias !
further donations toward design and development gladly accepted in PIV: DMZ4zPBTChqUxh7tFwk6VoLvt2LDrp9JgD
UPDATE [March 27, 2017 - 10:20 am] : an initial page has been started: http://pivxplanet.com
.com .net .org are also acquired.
Currently, this is a simple page on my standard mediatemple host
i’d like to move it to a dedicated droplet on Digital Ocean ($5 month), and put some Node.js and ReactJS behind it to drive better response, data visualization, and PIVX metrics processing.
An initial budget of 150 PIV would help to move to better hosting, and take the dashboard app to the next level by exploring integration of PIVX APIs, and placing links to PIVX resources (Slack channels, wiki, forum, etc).
Stage 1 Target: 150 PIV - TARGET MET

> What are the details?
PIVX Planet would be a significant innovation on the current PIVX world map: https://pivx.org/pivx-world. The original 2-dimensional PIVX world map could still serve its function on the PIVX website. The new PIVX Planet web app could be represented as a 3-dimensional interactive globe on a dedicated page (perhaps planet.pivx.org).
The PIVX Planet web app could be designed and developed along the lines of the NEM Nodes web app: https://nemnodes.org (I know exactly what technology NEM used to create this, so we can make it like this and much better).
The general idea is that the planetary web app provides a comprehensive view of the PIVX global community network, as well as a hub to various PIVX information and resources. The web app can evolve over time to include new types of visual representations to compliment the evolution of the PIVX world.
There are an arrangement of possible features that PIVX Planet could provide, such as:
  • locations of PIVX members
  • locations and stats of PIVX masternodes
  • various interactive real-time data layers (PIVX transactions, travel routes, weather, etc). Ideally, we can discover some novel types of data visualizations not represented before along the lines of social evolution, governance, etc. These types of data visualization can be ‘toggled’ on/off.
  • meta-UI links to various PIVX resources (website, wiki, exchanges, slack, etc)
  • PIVX social news stream
  • PIVX price ticker
  • it can be purple, because it’s a PIVX Purple Planet!
The web app can be architected in a way to allow for future updates of new resource links, and new data visualizations.
Exact features and design can be further clarified in a functional specification after further discussion here, and within the final proposal.
> Why is it needed?
  1. provides an engaging, visually comprehensive, high level view of the PIVX global community network, engendering a greater sense of connectivity, coherency, and diversity in universality.
  2. provides a hub for various PIVX resources and links. During my time in PIVX Slack in last few weeks, I commonly hear new members asking questions about how to find PIVX things (tutorials, exchanges, etc). This would provide a single link (planet.pivx.org) for members to orient and return to for up-to-date information, resources, and connections (to Slack, wiki, forum, exchanges, etc).
  3. Can enhance the PIVX brand and ethos as a dynamic symbol of being truly global and innovative.
> Who will perform the work?
I can design, architect, and program much of the project in coordination with perhaps at least one or two other developers / engineers.
I have experience with creating on-line interactive global maps for organizations such as the Institute of Noetic Sciences, EarthDance International, the Buckminster Fuller Institute, the Sacred Land Film Project, Call2Action, Unify, Harvard University, and more (see links below). I created some of the first interactive maps to be placed onto the web (beginning in 2000):
[ see LINKS in comment below - as system would not allow more than 2 links ]
(most of these projects are legacy, tho were innovative in their time)
The PIVX Planet web app would be far better than any of these.
It would be my honor to co-create a global web app for the PIVX project and community. Additional project developers can be sought and selected.
> How will it be funded?
  • with PIVX !!!
  • the project may progress in stages, with proposals for expansion happening in stages
  • an initial budget of 150 PIV would help to move to better hosting, and take the dashboard app to the next level by exploring integration of PIVX APIs, and placing links to PIVX resources (Slack channels, wiki, forum, etc).
Stage 1 Target: 150 PIV - TARGET MET

will continue to roll out new stages of development going forward …
What do you think … ?
