Hello curious PIVian or Labsian!

I'm JSKitty 🐱 - A Developer at PIVX Labs.
Who is this? Click to get up-to-date on my last proposal.

This is my fourteenth proposal to renew my perpetual job of pushing PIVX to the next level.

What have I done in these last cycles?
These last three cycles were split between a major flagship delivery: the PIVX Wallet integration in Vector, alongside continued Maintenance, Infrastructure, and Stability work across PIVX Labs projects.

A quick, TL;DR recap of everything:

  • PIVX Wallet in Vector - The long-awaited addressless payment system is now live, enabling seamless PIVX transactions within Vector chats.
  • Infrastructure Optimisation - Retiring servers, migrating to Privex, targeting >50% infra cost reduction to the DAO over the coming weeks.
  • Blockbook Performance - 10x latency improvement (300ms → ~20ms) with reduced RPC pressure via custom-written Blockbook patches.
  • Security Hardening - Extreme performance optimisations at nginx, kernel, and software stack levels.
  • MPW PR Auto-Deployment - Custom system for testing PRs live, e.g. pr-605.mypivxwallet.org
  • Clodsworth - A free Claude Opus 4.5 bot for the PIVX community with powerful tool capabilities, the successor to PIVi.
Let's dive in to my contributions below.

💜 PIVX Wallet in Vector

This is the big one - the primary deliverable I've been working towards for months, powered by the foundations of our Mini App technology, an extension of the WebXDC Protocol merged with Nostr, Blossom and Iroh.

Pull Request #33 introduced over +20k lines across 219 files, bringing:

  • Addressless Payments - 10-character Base58 promo codes that derive private keys via 12.5M SHA256 iterations (PoW security). Send PIVX in chat, recipients claim with one tap.
  • Balance Tracking - Real-time balance updates via parallel Blockbook API queries with automatic failover.
  • Sweep & Withdraw - Consolidate promo balances to your main wallet with a single click.
  • Multi-Currency Display - View balances in USD, EUR, GBP, and other fiat currencies.

You can now transfer PIV to any Vector user, even if they have no idea what PIVX is; seamless introductions to onboard new PIVians.

What this means for PIVX: Every single Vector user now innately has a PIVX wallet. You can send instant payments to anyone - even if they've never heard of PIVX - no addresses required, no wallet setup necessary. This is the "Trojan Horse" strategy finally realised.

In the case that someone doesn't claim your tip; no worries! You can hit "Reclaim" on your tip, sweeping it back in to your wallet securely.

🖥️ Infrastructure & DevOps

Continued maintaining our infrastructure of 10 servers, with a focus on cost reduction and performance:
  • Server Consolidation - Retired two servers and migrated to a new Privex-hosted server. This consolidation will continue over the next few weeks, retaining prior servers until their bill expiration for fallback redundancy, targeting a ~50% reduction in both server count and infrastructure costs.
  • Blockbook Optimisation - Patched the PIVX Labs Blockbook with various optimisations, dropping website latency by 10x (from 300ms to ~20ms) while reducing PIVX RPC pressure.
  • Security Hardening - Spent several days implementing extreme performance optimisations at nginx, kernel, and software stack levels.

🛠️ Developer Tooling
  • MPW PR Auto-Deployment - Built a custom system that automatically deploys My PIVX Wallet pull requests to live test environments. For example: pr-605.mypivxwallet.org - This allows contributors and reviewers to test PRs instantly without local setup, and removes our dependency on the 3rd-party service; Netlify.

  • Clodsworth - Built and introduced a Discord-based, free Claude Opus 4.5 bot with significant tool capabilities for the PIVX community. It can crunch data, produce graphical charts, build code or websites, manipulate video/audio/images, review code, browse the web with vision, and much more - all offered completely free.

What are my goals for this proposal?

My PIVX Wallet v3.0
MPW v3 is the most ambitious My PIVX Wallet release yet, with 21 open PRs awaiting review and integration. My primary focus will be pushing this release over the finish line:
  • Deep PR Reviews - Myself and my Opus 4.5 Reviewer will crack down on merging the massive PR backlog.
  • Features - I'll work alongside Duddino to implement requested features and continue to expand the horizons of My PIVX Wallet as both a Wallet and a Platform for the PIVX Ecosystem.
  • Stability & Performance catch-up - I'll place a new focus on stability & performance, with integrations like Liquid's RustyBlox explorer - as well as reducing API callback quantities with low-level explorer-based improvements, to speed-up MPW as much as possible.

MPW-Tauri: Native Desktop & Mobile
Building on my Tauri Mobile experience from Vector, I'll shift to assist Duddino with MPW-Tauri - a native application for My PIVX Wallet:
  • Cross-Platform Native App - A truly installable application for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
  • Enhanced Security - No dependency on centralised domains or DNS for the client - your wallet works even if mypivxwallet.org goes down.
  • Performance Boost - Native compilation for performance-sensitive libraries (like Shield), making them considerably faster than WebAssembly.
  • App Store Distribution - Potential for F-Droid, Google Play, and Apple App Store listings, bringing MPW to mainstream app marketplaces.

AI-Powered Development Infrastructure
Providing the PIVX community with cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate development:
  • Clodsworth for Everyone - Continuing to offer free access to the world's strongest AI coding model (Claude Opus 4.5+) for the entire PIVX community.
  • GitHub Integration - Integrating AI-powered automatic code reviews and feedback loops directly into PIVX Labs repositories, as seen in Vector PR #33.
  • Workflow Acceleration - Enabling community members to leverage AI for data analysis, chart generation, code review, website building, media manipulation, proposal reporting, and more.

Continued Maintenance & Infrastructure
  • Server Management - Continued DevOps work across PIVX Labs infrastructure, completing the ~50% cost reduction initiative, hardening security, and tuning for minimal latency.
  • Project Maintenance - Ongoing bug fixes, security patches, and stability improvements across all Labs projects.

A Note on Changes
Starting with this proposal, I am transitioning from Project Lead and Lead Developer of PIVX Labs to simply a Developer & Infrastructure Manager, with a focus on PIVX's open-source technology, rather than private repositories.
  • I will no longer handle project management, team reporting & submission, or guidance responsibilities at Labs.
  • I will continue as a developer, focusing on code contributions.
  • I will continue as a maintainer for existing Labs projects.
  • I will continue handling server management and DevOps.

Why? Simply put, I need to focus where I work best. While I'm a capable leader, I'm a more capable developer. With the introduction of top-tier AI tools like Claude (which also wrote most of this proposal!), I can now work at the pace of 10 senior developers, and I wish that was an exaggeration; most of my time is now spent architecting software plans, reviewing, and tweaking high-quality Opus 4.5 code, rather than slowly writing code from scratch - every minute spent managing projects, directing tasks, reporting on behalf of the team, and handling administrative work is time that could be spent shipping code. My value output as a developer far exceeds my value output as a project manager, it's time to lock-in.

Vector Funding
With the completion of the primary PIVX integration in Vector, I will no longer ascribe any proposals nor funding towards Vector development. This doesn't mean previously-mentioned deliverables (PIVX Theme, etc.) will be unfinished - those have effectively already been funded, and will be finished + released according to plan, the majority of which are shipping late January, less than two weeks away!

Going forward, my work and proposals under the PIVX DAO are exclusively to develop, maintain infrastructure, and build new ideas at PIVX Labs, for the PIVX DAO.

Reduced Amount
My usual cycle amount has been 28,500 PIV. With the reduced scope (no project management, no Vector funding), this proposal requests 20,000 PIV per cycle.

... want to add your own ideas for us to build?
Join and let's get it done!

I, and the entire Labs team + community, thank everyone who have supported our work thus far, and allowed us to prove that we can get shit done without too much messing around - we have some fun, it's what keeps us sane and grounded, down-to-earth, but we keep our direction the same: build, and do it right.

Thanks for reviewing my proposal, now's your choice:

PIVX Wallet in Vector - The long-awaited addressless payment system is now live, enabling seamless PIVX transactions within Vector chats.
Is this released with the upcoming version of Vector at the end of the month?

This is the "Trojan Horse" strategy finally realised.
Freaking awesome!

manipulate video/audio/images
So, we can make videos of Kier Starmer applying lipstick? Yay!

My value output as a developer far exceeds my value output as a project manager, it's time to lock-in.
Please keep a focus on your health too! No more back issues from too much time hunched at the keyboard please.

Excellent proposal!
