Role and Introduction
Rushali is the Lead Frontend developer at PIVX Labs - utilising her vast computing-academia to push the development of Labs Oracle, PIVX Rewards, PIVCards, Vector and additional projects further, particularly in areas of frontend work.
Progress Report
These last three months, Rushali complete the frontend of our new monitoring platform, Labs Pulse, while helping extend the development of Vector's UI by completing the new Emoji Redesign, creating a new Context Menu UI system for extensive customisation and shortcut additions in Vector, as well as a high level of development towards Widescreen Mode, featuring a multi-panel view of Vector to maximize screen utility in wide formats.
Labs Pulse - Complete!
Rushali designed and launched the Labs Pulse frontend, with real-time feeds of the entire ecosystem is an easy-to-glance format, enabling rapid infrastructure assessments for both the internal PIVX teams and the PIVX community itself.
Vector Emoji Redesign - Complete!
Rushali spent a few months on-and-off polishing the design of Vector's new Emoji Panel, a Discord-like design with our own compact, snappy, vivid format:
Aligned to the original design spec, this panel is futureproofed for Custom Emoji Support, once the backend of Vector is equipped to handle it, Vector will now easily support the integration and display of custom emojis across all areas of the platform.
Vector Context Menus - Complete!
Rushali spent a few weeks perfecting the design of our Context Menus, allowing the ability for us to add new shortcuts and context menus for a compact feature set in a nicely displayed package - soon you'll be able to right-click delete messages, block, change settings, all within contextual bounds of elements all around Vector (for example: right-clicking on Chats, Profiles, Messages, etc).
Vector Widescreen - In Progress!
Rushali has spent a significant amount of time building Widescreen mode for Vector, a Discord-like experience that vastly improves the UX and screen availability for Widescreen users of Vector, using screen space in a panel-style design for maximum efficiency, with optional tabbing to close panels for extended space.
Widescreen mode will be showcased within the coming days, as previous Vector UI features begin merging and finalising before being rebased on Vector Widescreen.
Proposal Plans
These plans are ordered by priority, with the top-most items receiving the most attention and lower-most being "spare-time" ventures.
Plans may also change or expand during the proposal's timeframe, all work in which will be documented by PIVX Labs and reported on accordingly.
Labs Cleanup
The various services around PIVX Labs are in need of a consistency cleanup - with almost every Labs website, platform, and mini-app having a different design, as well as different level of quality, these few cycles will see much work put in to the consistency of PIVX Labs platforms for a full design unification.
The goal of the cleanup is to cross-reference the majority of our platforms and unify our styles, making it easier to assemble a consistent set of tools, apps and platforms under the PIVX brand without feeling fragmented.
Additionally, polish will be applied across apps in areas where - as some succeed, others do not, such as the fragmentation in UX for PIVX Promos (now named PIVX Gift Codes), MPW and the official Redeemer app have very different flows, designs, and brand schemes, all of this must be unified for a consistent, recognizable, congruent brand and user experience.
The majority of the brand and guidance decisions will be assisted by YuurinBee and JSKitty, while Rushali implements the changes and brings the 'taste of PIVX' across all of our platforms and apps respectively.
Vector Widescreen Mode
Rushali will be continuing her work on Widescreen Mode, likely for a handful of releases while we fine-tune for different displays, DPIs, mobiles (foldables, landscape) and multi-monitor setups.
Vector Custom Emojis: Stage 2
If applicable backend time is acquired that enables the integration of Custom Emojis (uploadable packs), Rushali will be implementing the UI to upload, manage, share, and equip custom emoji packs within Vector - this step relies entirely on backend availability, but will be undertaken if the system becomes available for her to build on top of.
