Liquid369 Testnet Servers Proposal

To properly test PIVX v6.0, we need a dedicated Testnet6 environment. This proposal requests funding to spin up ~15 VPS nodes across IPv4, IPv6, and Tor quorums, with two provider options (Contabo or OVH/Kimsufi). Each server will host ~5 nodes (3 masternodes + 2 seeders) and include one extra IPv4.

Context & Rationale
We’ve cherry‑picked most PRs but lack a live testnet to validate functionality, uncover bugs, and prioritize fixes. A fresh Testnet6 chain on 15 VPS gives us:
  • Diverse network conditions (IPv4, IPv6, Tor)
  • Stress testing of backports & chain logic
  • Centralized log/monitoring for rapid debugging

Server Options (all costs in USD)
  • Contabo Cloud VPS 6C – € 7.00 → US$ 7.91/mo
    • 6 vCPU, 12 GB RAM, 200 GB SSD (or 100 GB NVMe)
    • 2 snapshots, 32 TB traffic, no setup fee
    • Extra IPv4: US$ 4.00/mo
    • → US$ 11.91 per server
  • Contabo Cloud VPS 8C – € 14.00 → US$ 15.82/mo
    • 8 vCPU, 20 GB RAM, 200 GB NVMe (or 400 GB SSD)
    • 3 snapshots, 32 TB traffic, no setup fee
    • Extra IPv4: US$ 4.00/mo
    • → US$ 19.82 per server
  • OVH/Kimsufi KS‑A – US$ 5.60–11.10/mo
    • Intel i7‑6700k (4 c/8 t @4–4.2 GHz), 32–64 GB RAM, 480 GB storage
    • Public 100 Mbps, eco‑friendly OVH network
    • Extra IPv4: US$ 4.00/mo
    • → US$ 9.60–15.10 per server

Cost Estimates (15 servers)
  • Contabo 6C option
    • Base: 15 × US$ 7.91 = US$ 118.65
    • IPv4: 15 × US$ 4.00 = US$ 60.00
    • → US$ 178.65/month
  • Contabo 8C option
    • Base: 15 × US$ 15.82 = US$ 237.30
    • IPv4: 15 × US$ 4.00 = US$ 60.00
    • → US$ 297.30/month
  • OVH/Kimsufi option
    • Base: 15 × (US$ 5.60–11.10) = US$ 84.00–166.50
    • IPv4: 15 × US$ 4.00 = US$ 60.00
    • → US$ 144.00–226.50/month

Payout Request & Rationale
  • Requested: 4,000 PIV/month (@ US$ 0.15/PIV → US$ 600)
  • Actual server costs range US$ 178–297/mo.
  • Buffer covers PIV price volatility (recent low US$ 0.11) and potential price spikes or extra expenses.

Deployment & Monitoring
  • Use Ansible for automated node setup & upgrades
  • Collect logs via journalctl → Prometheus → Grafana dashboards possible option
  • Enable quick log queries across all 15 servers for error tracing

Responsibilities (ongoing)
  • Maintain testnet6 chain & seed nodes
  • Monitor health, resource usage, and log alerts
  • Report weekly status and bug prioritization

Really glad to see Ansible listed. That's key to working smarter!

PIVX is money. More importantly, it is other people's money. If we screw things up, our reputation takes a big hit. As such, we must do LOTS of testing. This proposal is a no-brainer to me. Do it!

Funding is complete and closing.
We will start our progress this month. I had to move last month, and using these funds, they need to be converted to Fiat in most cases, for where we would be hosting. This caused me to have to manage how I spent funds while moving and etc.

Alongside that, we want to use varying providers and locales for proper testing. Kimsufi was out of the ones listed her,e andwe have been waiting on a restock to catch any.

Will update more as it goes but for now the funds are in the address of the proposal and will move in a few days to be spent on Servers as we find them.
