1. Introduction

Sequel to the discussion on how we can collectively build PIVX spearheaded by @Eric, two themes stand out for me – the Ambassador Program and the Learn & Earn Program. Kudos to @RedByrd for taking the initiative to lead the ambassador program. Since the Learn & Earn Program was my idea, I'm putting forward this funding proposal to get it off the ground after weeks of brainstorming.

We've seen that giveaways and airdrops can be useful for attracting attention. However, the PIVX Learn & Earn Program goes further by providing an engaging platform to onboard new users to cryptocurrency, particularly within the privacy-centric space of PIVX. It will achieve this by delivering educational resources and incentivizing learning with cryptocurrency rewards, ultimately cultivating a stronger grasp of blockchain technology and the PIVX ecosystem.

This proposal outlines the need for funding to develop the program's website and platform, with the commitment from me to create the foundational PIVX learning content.

2. Problem Statement

Currently, there's a significant barrier to entry for individuals seeking to understand and utilize cryptocurrencies, particularly those with privacy features like PIVX. The complexity of blockchain technology and the nuances of privacy-focused solutions can be daunting for newcomers. A user-friendly and rewarding educational platform is needed to simplify this learning process and encourage wider adoption.

You’d also agree that there is a lot of misinformation about PIVX out there. The program will act as a more hands-on approach to educating newbies and crypto OGs on what PIVX truly is.

3. Proposed Solution
The PIVX Learn & Earn Program offers a solution by providing an intuitive online platform that combines educational content with a reward system. Users will be able to:

  • Learn: Access structured learning materials, including videos and guides, covering cryptocurrency concepts and PIVX-specific features.
  • Earn: Receive PIVX rewards for completing learning modules, quizzes, and tasks.
  • Engage: Participate in a community of like-minded individuals, fostering knowledge sharing and support.
4. Project Phases

The program will be rolled out in phases to ensure effective implementation and scalability:

  • Phase 1: PIVX Onboarding Focus: The initial phase will concentrate on developing and launching the Learn & Earn program with a core focus on PIVX. This will include creating training modules that explain PIVX's privacy features, decentralized governance, and technology.
  • Phase 2: Expansion with Privacy-Centric Partnerships: The program will expand by partnering with other privacy-focused cryptocurrencies, offering them the platform to educate their communities.
  • Phase 3: Platform Enhancement and Growth: The final phase will focus on establishing the platform as the premier educational resource for emerging privacy projects. This includes refining the onboarding process for new projects, implementing tiered reward systems, and incorporating community feedback.
5. Funding Request and Justification

The primary funding request of 15,0000 PIV is for the development of the core website and platform infrastructure. This includes:

  • Website Development:
    • Front-end and back-end development
    • User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design
    • Database integration
    • Learning Management System (LMS) functionality
    • Reward distribution system
    • Security features
  • Platform Features:
    • User management
    • Content delivery system
    • Quiz and task management
    • Progress tracking
    • Reporting and analytics
In exchange for funding, I will contribute the following to the PIVX Learn & Earn Program free of charge:

  • Beginner Course Creation: Development of comprehensive beginner-level educational materials covering fundamental cryptocurrency concepts and an introduction to PIVX.
  • Intermediate Course Creation: Development of in-depth intermediate-level educational content focusing on PIVX's advanced features, privacy protocols, governance model, and masternodes.
This contribution represents a significant value to the PIVX community and demonstrates a strong commitment to the program's success. The creation of these courses will provide a solid foundation for user education and engagement on the platform.

It is worth mentioning that the said amount is a one-off fee and subsequent requests will be lesser and go towards funding the reward pool for learning and rewards.

6. Benefits to PIVX

The PIVX Learn & Earn Program is a win-win and will provide significant benefits to the PIVX ecosystem, including a simplified the learning process that will attract new users to PIVX, enhanced community engagement, and ecosystem growth.

The success of the PIVX Learn & Earn Program will be measured by:

  • Quiz and task participation
  • PIVX reward distribution
  • Community engagement metrics (e.g., forum activity, social media mentions)

Why don't we make this a joint effort using the Rewards System created by PIVX Labs? I'd be happy to chat.

Currently, our PIVX Rewards system is not doing so well with a faucet-focused experience, but I have been contemplating ditching the Faucet path and instead converting the platform in to a task-based platform (i.e: completing PIVX Quizzes, following on Social Media, voting on CMC, referring new users, etc).

These two goals align perfectly, and would allow us to focus efforts on an already-built platform, rather than build something very similar, again, from scratch.

Thanks for the feedback. It's amazing to hear that we are both thinking in the same direction.

One of the reasons I didn't want to bother Labs Devs is because I know they are already quite busy with existing work.

Although there are some shared similarities, my vision for the L&E program is to eventually have a platform that caters to other projects, not just PIVX. That's the phase 2 of the implementation. Rewards will be in the native currency of the project

But here's the spin, since the platform is being powered by PIVX, we'll influx pivx-related tasks and rewards even on external projects.

So the landing page will feature educational content, articles, and thoughts pieces, etc. And one of the nav tabs will have the Learn and Earn Program. Do you intend to remodel Rewards into a Learning Management System or is there a way to turn Rewards into a plug and play API?

I'm curious though, why do you think Rewards is not doing so well?
 
After thought 1: Ultimately, I see the L&E program become something similar to Bitdegree that doesn't just cater to the PIVX community. However, PIVX will be an integral part of the platform as it will be infused into other projects.

One way we could incorporate Rewards is to make it one of the mandatory tasks in order to claim the larger reward. For instance, learners could be asked to claim some PIV on PIVX Rewards as part of the overall requirements. This would serve as a hands-on introduction to PIVX Rewards. We could even have a course just for that as well.
 
What's the funding ask?

Is that meant to be 15,000 or 150,000 PIV?
 
After thought 2: This perfectly aligns with our BHAG - "Developing circular economies powered by PIVX." One key piece to achieving this mission is "education" and the Learn and Earn program will incentivize this goal. Earn while you learn, a win-win for both parties. We all need to start thinking about and seeing the bigger picture. There are several aspects of an economy and with time PIVX should gun for dominating some of these aspects.

I am still open to comments, questions, and suggestions on refining this proposal. In the meantime, I'll be submitting it on-chain.
