Holiday Promo Video: Saw it the other day. Well done. Perhaps link here for reference for others.
Thanks. Was a lot of fun to do. I'm happy with it, and I've received nothing but positive feedback.
Shorts/Reels (4x): Can you please provide the links?
Here is the first Holiday reel:
Here is the link to the second reel for the holidays. To be posted soon. Please do not share - this is not public yet.
I will have 2 more reels after that ready to go. In the works. Things are a bit behind with my files being corrupted and my family getting the death-flu for a week.
Merch Designs (2x) + Re-Orders: The merch turned out to be super expensive. I I don't see justification for new designs when the price is so low, and we now have v1.0 of amazing merch to equip PIVians at conferences etc.
It was more expensive than I would have liked, but it is not that much more expensive given the small order and nature of it.
I agree, it did turn out amazing quality and I'm glad to provide it to everybody. I think the most expensive thing was my time. I used reship.com to try to manage more affordable and central international shipping. Once they received them they got over half the boxes lost in their warehouse and they took pictures of the box that excluded the identifying names/psuedonyms I wrote on the outside of the box in order to know whose is whose. This was a lot of time contacting reship, trying to piece together whose box is whose, and putting in the unique countries duties and shipping info. At the end of it all, this was very frustrating and felt like a real time-drain to me. To be clear, this was a lot more time spent on this than I expected and I apologize for not expressing this properly to you all.
Ready-to-Go posts (x15): Are the WTF series shown above the first half of these?
Yes. These are ready to go for when
@LeacyMcK and WAMS are ready to post. Like I've mentioned - my files got corrupted and I had to redo all of the Illustrator files and the TIF files. For some reason I had issues with the Adobe Illustrator version, colour spaces, and TIF's being embedded. I spent double the expected amount of time on these (the equivelant to 12 graphics). I apologize for the delay and I understand that this is frustrating - I myself am quite stumped by it, but all I can do is try my best and move on.
Education Modules (x5): These are included in your proposal last cycle, this current cycle, AND the next cycle. I'm confused why a few graphics are taking so long to deliver on, or what justifies them now becoming narration. How much time has been spent on the Education Modules so far, and what is the expected total cost? What is the status of your efforts on these Education Modules. Do draft graphics exist?
I started on graphics, trying to utilize AI and this seemed to be a bit of a struggle - not because it didn't produce anything but because we as a team couldn't quite decided exactly what we wanted. Due to this we had a meeting recently and decided I will be doing a talking head narration to put at the top of each module (Youtube videos), which will help read out the modules for those who don't tend to read as well as listen.
The reason for the delay is mostly due to the team not sure how to best tackle the modules to be delivered best.
@RedByrd can attest to this - we now have a solution and we are moving forward.
These are started and I will have a mockup of the first vid soon - I need to record the rest, implement graphics, and edit the vids.
Townhall (1x): Not sure why this would be considered a deliverable. If well done, it is indeed effort to prepare etc. But, it feels like 'filler' because I am not aware of any such request, and the team hasn't changed since the last 'teaching' online meeting you led.
Livestream education is not a filler - it's an integral part of teaching and growing the Ambassador Program. I spent hours with the team on this townhall and also walking alongside the advocates trying to help them get their branding and graphics better. I prepared slides and graphics in advance, hoping to walk them through it. Most didn't show up prepared, but I rolled with it. On top of this I recorded, edited, and put a vid online of the Townhall lesson (one of the 2 that I hosted):
Them improving or not, is not in my control - I have done multiple town halls, created concise and clear social/branding guides, and I have done a tip incentive in discord to get them to improve. I've seen some improvement, but not a ton. Not sure what to do about this, but if me trying to educate and help these Advocates is seen as filler and not valuable, I would much rather step back from Mentor and not be a part of it directly.
Thanks in advance for the updates!
Note:
Keep in mind this is part time hours - (roughly 30 hours a week). This last month (November into December) I have struggled with my work due to the merch having roadblocks and delayed, my family being sick on two different occasions, my files being corrupted, and being quite discouraged. I understand that not everything I quoted is finished. I get that - and I want to repeat what I've said since the beginning: These are a general idea of the things I intend to accomplish, but if life, other tasks, or delays get in the way not all of it accomplishable. It's on me for not clearly communicating the delays and I understand why questions like these are posed in light of that. I appreciate your feedback
@Eric_Stanek because otherwise how can I improve?
Going forward I think my problem is over-quoting the things I intend to accomplish, seeming like I'm not doing enough. All things considered, I am actually accomplishing quite a bit on part-time hours. I just need to convey what I'm doing better.
I'm hoping you all read this and see that I AM indeed doing my work, despite my roadblocks and you continue to vote for me. I'm not perfect, I admit. I have my struggles, but I love working with PIVX and I consider this a career home. Looking forward to what the future brings.
