Proposal: DAO Community Coach

Introduction: Laying the Foundation for Unity and Progress

PIVX has consistently demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and innovation, thriving in the decentralized space despite challenges. However, like any complex and decentralized organization, the lack of a shared direction and cohesive structure can impede progress and morale.

This proposal seeks to address these challenges by uniting the PIVX community around a common goal, fostering a structure that supports collaboration and efficiency, and empowering contributors to realize their potential within an environment of safety and growth.

Priority 1: Establishing a Common Goal

Objective: Define a clear, actionable, and inspiring goal that aligns the efforts of the PIVX community, ensuring that all initiatives contribute towards a unified overarching goal.

Steps to Achieve the Common Goal:

  1. Community Consultation: Discussions to gather feedback from key community members on the proposed vision and mission statements.
  2. Finalize the Goal: Refine the statements based on feedback and officially adopt them as a new common goal, the guiding star for the DAO.
  3. Set Measurable Milestones: Work with the community to define clear milestones for the Hubs and Teams, that align with the overarching goal, ensuring progress can be tracked and celebrated.

Priority 2: Restructuring the DAO for Efficiency and Collaboration

Objective: Establish a structure of Hubs and Teams to improve workflow, foster collaboration, and align efforts with the common goal. Ensure that mental health and respectful communication are integral parts of the restructuring process and the overall culture, maintaining PIVX's reputation as a friendly and welcoming community. A friendly and welcoming work environment not only keeps community members close and motivated, but also attracts new talents.

Proposed Structure:

  • Hubs: Core functional groups that encompass related activities. Example Hubs:
    • Community Hub: Socials, outreach, international ambassadors.
    • Development Hub: Core, non-core, website, and PIVXLabs.
    • Marketing & Design Hub: Branding, campaigns, and visual assets.
  • Teams: Subgroups within Hubs focused on specific projects or tasks.

Steps to Implement the New Structure:

  1. Assessment: Review current departments and contributors’ roles to identify overlaps and gaps.
  2. Redesign: Propose a new Hub and Team framework based on the assessment and community feedback.
  3. Transition Plan: Develop a phased approach to implement the new structure and role assignments.
  4. Hub Cuddles: Introduce monthly meetings within each Hub to foster collaboration, build cohesion, share progress, and address challenges.
  5. Community Pods: Create cross-Hub groups to address broader issues, foster communication across Hubs, and increase creativity and collaboration, ensuring alignment with the common goal.

Role of the DAO Community Coach

As the DAO Community Coach, my role will be to act as the glue that holds the community together, fostering cohesion and ensuring that all members feel supported and aligned. The role will blend seamlessly into the community and focus on:

  • Facilitate Consensus: Guide the community through discussions to finalize and adopt the common goal.
  • Foster Alignment: Ensure that all community members, initiatives, proposals and voting align with the common goal.
  • Promote Workplace Well-Being: Prioritize mental health, emotional safety, and respectful communication to nurture a friendly and welcoming community.
  • Nurture Collaboration: Organize Hub Cuddles and Community Pods to enhance communication, increase cohesion, and strengthen teamwork.

Proposed Implementation Timeline

Month 1:

  • Host community consultations to finalize the common goal, including defining the community's 'Big Hairy Audacious Goal' (BHAG).
My BHAG suggestion: To position PIVX as one of the top three privacy coins by market capitalization by fostering a bold, creative, and friendly community dedicated to advancing robust privacy technology, delivering unparalleled user-friendliness, and striving for increased decentralization.
  • Initiate discussions on restructuring the DAO into Hubs and Teams.
  • Conduct a listening tour with key community members.

Month 2:

  • Announce the BHAG.
  • Launch the new Hub and Team framework.
  • Hold the first round of Hub Cuddles and Community Pods.

Month 3:

  • Collaborate with Hubs and Teams to set measurable milestones.
  • Introduce a visual roadmap to track progress.
  • Evaluate the impact of changes and gather feedback for refinement.
  • Propose the concept of PIVX Showcase: Monthly or bi-monthly public community sharing events where members present accomplishments, ideas, and updates to inspire creativity and collaboration.

Long-Term Ideas

Community Discussions on Decentralization and DAO Security:

  • Initiate discussions about enhancing decentralization and designing safeguards to protect against hijacking attempts, ensuring the DAO's resilience, security, and independence. Additionally, create routines for consistent follow-ups on proposal fulfillments to maintain accountability and progress.

Community Celebrations:

  • Organize annual or bi-annual gatherings to honor milestones, recognize contributions, and build camaraderie, reinforcing the DAO's friendly and inclusive culture.

Proposal Details

Commitment: 15 hours/week (60 hours/month) for the initial 3 months.

Compensation: USD 60/hour, totaling USD 3,600 per month, converting to roughly 10000 PIV at the time of submitting this proposal (PIVX price ~$0.31 on Jan 1st, 2025).

Outcome Measurement:

  • Adoption of the common goal by the community.
  • Successful launch of the Hub and Team structure.
  • Positive feedback from community members regarding cohesion and collaboration.
  • Progress toward defined milestones.
By rallying the community around a shared goal and implementing a structure that supports collaboration and growth, this proposal aims to position PIVX as a leader in the decentralized space, ready to tackle future challenges with confidence and unity.

I'd love to read your constructive feedback on this proposal. I hope that -with your help- it can find the needed acceptance.

Working with the community I assume will involve the opposite views for a middle ground?

Priority 2: Restructuring the DAO for Efficiency and Collaboration

Objective: Establish a structure of Hubs and Teams to improve workflow, foster collaboration, and align efforts with the common goal. Ensure that mental health and respectful communication are integral parts of the restructuring process and the overall culture, maintaining PIVX's reputation as a friendly and welcoming community. A friendly and welcoming work environment not only keeps community members close and motivated, but also attracts new talents.
Mental health... If your that unstable you should be no where near. This isn't a safe place for your feelings.

You cannot keep the community close when alot of us are banned from discord and discussions! Your little sect may be close but theres a whole different set of people that have been shunned.
Proposed Structure:

  • Hubs: Core functional groups that encompass related activities. Example Hubs:
    • Community Hub: Socials, outreach, international ambassadors.
    • Development Hub: Core, non-core, website, and PIVXLabs.
    • Marketing & Design Hub: Branding, campaigns, and visual assets.
  • Teams: Subgroups within Hubs focused on specific projects or tasks.
These hubs are work areas that people apply for funding for that are already there! If people want to be involved in them they put a proposal in. Your applied for role is not needed.

  5. Community Pods: Create cross-Hub groups to address broader issues, foster communication across Hubs, and increase creativity and collaboration, ensuring alignment with the common goal.

No one should have there finger in that many pies. You want full access to everything to then set your goals and change the way people have been working.

Hub cuddles??? Is this a joke. You truly are a special being.

Role of the DAO Community Coach

As the DAO Community Coach, my role will be to act as the glue that holds the community together, fostering cohesion and ensuring that all members feel supported and aligned. The role will blend seamlessly into the community and focus on:
Your far from glue. If anything your causing more division as I can't stand the way you feel your involvement to shape pivx is the next step. Trying to change how groups have been working fine for years. Yes there needs to be someone to make sure people are pulling there weight. I'm sick of having to call people put but this involvement is brainwashing. Trying to set your view as this is thr direction. Good job the votes control that and I hope other masternode owners realise this is not the direction to go. Votes control it and always will.

Again your guiding them on your path and view. This is not how it should be and not how myself and others view the dao.

Sod the mental health and emotional safety. This is not a safe space for your feelings. If your doing a bad job you get called out. That's how management works.

Ffs what is it with cuddles?? Just reading that makes me cringe. I hope other people see this and realise this is not a proposal that should be anywhere near pivx.

Who are these key community members? The people you should be approaching are the masternode owners. Put a vote in for a direction and if it passes that's the way it goes. This is the democracy of the dao.
Month 2:

  • Announce the BHAG.
  • Launch the new Hub and Team framework.
  • Hold the first round of Hub Cuddles and Community Pods.
Ffs more cuddles...MASTERNODE OWNERS READ THIS AND THINK IS THIS WHO I WANT INVOLVED IN THE DIRECTION OF PIVX.

Not even sure what this is?? Who are you asking, what is the goal apart to pat people on the back for something their paid to do! Community involvement is already there. We have the forum...some of you have the discord. You want true collaboration unblock everyone from the discord and then maybe myself and others will believe a word you say that this is a community effort and not a select few and one big masternode owner.

Long-Term Ideas

Community Discussions on Decentralization and DAO Security:

  • Initiate discussions about enhancing decentralization and designing safeguards to protect against hijacking attempts, ensuring the DAO's resilience, security, and independence. This is called the reports already done. Accountability! Leacy has blocked all comments as she can't hack being called out. You lot are true hypocrites.
Community Celebrations:

  • Organize annual or bi-annual gatherings to honor milestones, recognize contributions, and build camaraderie, reinforcing the DAO's friendly and inclusive culture.

Wow who knew this was such a lucrative profession. Might have to look into it myself at those prices. Basically think you know all, "coach" them on those views and how to best portray them. Pretty certain that's brainwashing tho? Maybe I will look into hypnotherapy aswell.
Outcome Measurement:

  • Adoption of the common goal by the community.
  • Successful launch of the Hub and Team structure.
  • Positive feedback from community members regarding cohesion and collaboration.

I'd love to read your constructive feedback on this proposal. I hope that -with your help- it can find the needed acceptance.
It's a no from me but I URGE ALL MASTERNODE OWNERS TO VOTE ON THIS ONE.

Working with the community I assume will involve the opposite views for a middle ground?

Of course, opposite views are welcome and often ver valuable. Everyone needs to feel though that their opinions are welcome. If they fear being attacked for their respectfully communicated views or proposals, they will not speak up or submit proposals, and valuabe contributions are lost.

That's how management works.

Welcome to a new world. Maybe you should ask yourself why so many industries have a hard time recruiting and keeping younger generations. I've done that research.

Mental health... If your that unstable you should be no where near. This isn't a safe place for your feelings.

Thank you for your view, which I don't agree with. In my opinion, a workplace should very well be a safe space. Psychological safety is the cornerstone of any thriving workplace, with an environment where individuals feel secure to express ideas, ask questions, and admit mistakes without fear of judgment or reprisal. When contributors experience psychological safety, they are more likely to collaborate effectively, take creative risks, and engage in problem-solving, all of which drive innovation and productivity. It reduces stress, builds trust, and enhances team dynamics, ultimately contributing to a healthier, more resilient organization where everyone can perform at their best.

The people you should be approaching are the masternode owners.

I respectfully disagree with your suggestion. While masternode owners play a crucial role in voting on proposals, the role I’m proposing as a Community Coach is not about catering to the interests of a select few. It’s about fostering a collaborative, respectful, and creative community environment that benefits everyone involved in PIVX, not just those with voting power. A responsible masternode owner sees this.

Over the years, your communication style has frequently been divisive, negative, and at times even threatening, which has consistently undermined the core principles of what PIVX stands for. Such behavior does not serve the greater good of the community but instead weakens our ability to grow, collaborate, and attract new contributors; individuals who value freedom, privacy, purpose, and a mission to create positive change.

I fully expect you to vote against my proposal, and I respect your right to do so. However, I also see this as further evidence that you prioritize your personal rejection of me over what is beneficial for PIVX as a whole. This pattern of behavior has been demonstrated in your earlier comments and actions, where divisiveness seemed to take precedence over constructive collaboration.

A responsible masternode owner recognizes the importance of strengthening respectful communication, the well-being of the community, fostering inclusivity, and supporting initiatives that align with PIVX’s long-term success. My proposal is about building a unified and empowered community for everyone willing to submit to the values PIVX stands for, not about personal agendas. If you truly care about the future of PIVX, I urge you to consider what will help us grow and thrive rather than perpetuating a cycle of division and negativity.

If you find yourself unable to engage respectfully, if living up to PIVX’s values of a friendly and constructive community feels out of reach, or if providing criticism in a constructive and friendly way and granting others their right to being treated with respect is beyond your scope, then perhaps PIVX is simply not the right community for you. We need contributors who build bridges, not walls, and who see the value in collaboration over conflict.

Then they don't get funding? If you can't grow a pair and face rejection your not a person who deserves to be in charge of anything.
Welcome to a new world. Maybe you should ask yourself why so many industries have a hard time recruiting and keeping younger generations. I've done that research.
A new world that is crumbling. Look at the awakening of the west. It's all over x. Leftard shit is getting destroyed and I hope this proposal does to, but you prob have backing of a certain liberal masternode owner that has enough control on his own to vote proposals though.

MASTERNODE OWNERS UNITE. WE HAVE AND CAN BLOCK PROPOSALS.

Are you american? If so im going guess you voted Harris? The world is changing back to common sense. Trump is the start. What research have you done and on what? Your obviously looking at a select group of "emotional, leftard groups"

Not in my experience or anyone who I have spoke to. Your adding extra people put in place that serve 0 purpose. Cut the waste. Look what's happening with Elon musk and DOGE draining the swamp. You are obviously in favour of all of it. People are finally waking up that people in your mindset are a drain on resources.

Can't do the job? Then don't.
Worried about people calling you out? Should never have been in that position in the first place.

I don't care about people's feelings and mental health. I care about how best to spend the pivx budget which all masternode owners job is to do. Cut the waste and spend it on worthwhile proposals.
I respectfully disagree with your suggestion. It’s about fostering a collaborative, respectful, and creative community environment that benefits everyone involved in PIVX, not just those with voting power. So if your proposal is voted down you still expect to proceed? I know @Eric_Stanek has already stated he thinks the vote should be ignored. What is your stance? If your voted out is that you done for that role?
Over the years, your communication style has frequently been divisive, negative, and at times even threatening, which has consistently undermined the core principles of what PIVX stands for. Such behavior does not serve the greater good of the community but instead weakens our ability to grow, collaborate, and attract new contributors; individuals who value freedom, privacy, purpose, and a mission to create positive change.
You've not even been here long enough to grasp why my wording is so blunt. There's no threats in my wording only yes or no votes. The core of pivx is a decentralised community, where anyone can step up but a view which I hold and others gets shut down because you are all hypocrites who only believe in a direction if it's your own. Where as I would want to find a middle ground.
I will believe you want inclusivity if all opinions are heard on all platforms. Remove discord bans and let free speech rain. Obviously there's a not acceptable free speech moment. Let's try base it on x?
A responsible masternode owner recognizes the importance of strengthening respectful communication, the well-being of the community, fostering inclusivity, and supporting initiatives that align with PIVX’s long-term success. My proposal is about building a unified and empowered community for everyone willing to submit to the values PIVX stands for, not about personal agendas. If you truly care about the future of PIVX, I urge you to consider what will help us grow and thrive rather than perpetuating a cycle of division and negativity.
I am a responsible masternode owner that has been here from day 1. I have provided thousands of £s to help when budget was thin, paying for other people to then be shunned out because I call put bullshit and this proposal is one of them. Don't try to patronise me thinking your above me. I've been involved in pivx far longer than you and I have put my money where my mouth is to buy nodes, support proposals not funded to make pivx succeed. Again to be shunned and silenced from the community. If you really want inclusivity unblock everyone and let freespeach happen.
I don't even want to speak to you but if you put a proposal in I have to examine, comment and call out shit proposal which is what I'm doing. If you refuse to engage just like @LeacyMcK does then you deserve no time from anyone and your proposal deserves to fail.

Thanks for making your political views a part of this. I'll just ignore them.

So if your proposal is voted down you still expect to proceed? I know @Eric_Stanek has already stated he thinks the vote should be ignored. What is your stance? If your voted out is that you done for that role?

I'm perfectly fine if my proposal is rejected. I will continue to be a part of PIVX and contribute with what I can for as long as the community's and my values align.

I don't care about people's feelings and mental health.

Thanks for making clear again that your and PIVX's values don't seem to match. Have a good weekend.

Here's an interesting read for masternode owners, which has just been published.

The Ethical Responsibility of Voting in PIVX
Again. Who decides these? It wasn't a community effort as the opposition view is ignored. A liberal leftard movement is trying to take over a dao which should be everyone's views. Not silencing the opposition.

You all involved are complete hypocrites. A storm will happen eventually. At first we couldn't block proposals, now we sometimes do. There is a community away from this fairy tail one you have all made and it is will become more and more powerful as it has been doing over the years.

Tell me and everyone else your qualifications. You said you worked in banking? What did you do? You said you have done research to say this is how to go? Show it. Your trying to convince me and others that your view is the best way. Show some evidence.

Thanks for making your political views a part of this. I'll just ignore them.
Because I'm right in your political view?
I'm perfectly fine if my proposal is rejected. I will continue to be a part of PIVX and contribute with what I can for as long as the community's and my values align.
But you won't continue this involvement your saying? Or will you completely ignore a no it and still do it? Just like @Eric_Stanek said with funding.
Thanks for making clear again that your and PIVX's values don't seem to match. Have a good weekend.
Which is called a diverse community! Your are an absolute moron if you can spout all this diverse and inclusion shit but then completely ignore an opposing view! Hypocrite. It's hilarious seeing this persona you try for an inclusive, community driven, diverse engagement. You are just a liberal leftard.

No. You have already stated that you'll vote No. That's fine wilth me. You have already made up your mind. Why should I try to change that?

It's unfortunate that you've again chosen to resort to insults and inflammatory language rather than engaging in a respectful and constructive dialogue, but I am grateful for you proving my point. Your comments are not only disrespectful but also detract from the core values of what a community-driven DAO like PIVX should represent: values of mutual respect, collaboration, and meaningful engagement.

Diversity and inclusion are about creating an environment where differing perspectives can coexist respectfully, even when there are disagreements. However, that does not mean tolerating personal attacks, toxic behavior, or divisive rhetoric. Criticism is welcome when it is constructive and contributes to a better understanding or improvement, but this kind of aggressive and derogatory language is neither productive nor acceptable.

I will not tolerate this type of behavior against me or anyone else in the community. PIVX deserves better—contributors who can disagree with dignity, discuss opposing views intelligently, and work toward solutions without resorting to insults. If you find it challenging to communicate respectfully and align with the values of a collaborative and inclusive community, then I invite you again to consider whether PIVX is the right space for you. There is no room for your toxicity in a community that strives to build something meaningful together.

I will ignore future posts from you until you are able to manage to communicate respectfully.

Your aim should be to change my mind and show me why your way is better and improve pivx! Ive asked multiple questions to try and undersrand what you would do and how it woild help yet you refuse to engage. You want to foster a community involvement so this should be of all opposing views. Your just showing yourself as a joke. I am part of the community and have been since day 1. Your someone who has come along and thinks he knows better. Can you not see your hypocrisy?

Leftard is a political slur. Hardly an insult. The dao is the masternode votes no matter how much you all try to ignore that.

You can't be called out? This is not a personal attack as I would say the same to @Jeffrey if he put a proposal in like this and I like him. You leftards use these words to try to shut down opposition, where as I'm only speaking to show proper opposition to this proposal and get community involvement to expose this waste.

And you are to say what the community can tolerate? Pivx is the owners. Not you, not eric, not leacy, not jeffery. This is a dao. People get voted in and out all the time. The masternode owners are pivx currently how pivx works. They control the funding which in its self controls the direction of pivx. People don't work for free! You are living in a bubble of self entitlement who has never had anyone call put your obvious hypocritical bullshit.
I will ignore future posts from you until you are able to manage to communicate respectfully.
Which is what leacy has done and look how close she is to not passing? Not a good route to take. Accountability! One of your own words used yet you don't want it when it's an opposing one 😂 you are the beacon of hypocrisy and I hope all masternode owners see this.

Here are my thoughts at this point.

I value the objectives of the proposal, and I want to see it succeed. However, I feel you are 'putting the cart before the horse'. What I would like to see first, is Community consensus, on the need for, and definition of, a 'Big Hairy Audacious Goal' (BHAG). After that is complete, I would like to revisit this proposal.

I summarized my view here, in the preliminary discussion thread:

Your response was; "I don’t believe we need to wait for complete alignment before making progress." (You are agreeing it can be done first.)

The only downside if we do the BHAG first, is that it delays this proposal by 1 or 2 months. Not a big deal.

Further, working with the Community to define the BHAG first, as a volunteer, will demonstrate you have the 'cat herding' skills absolutely necessary for working with the PIVX DAO. This will add support to this 'DAO Community Coach' proposal and increase the odds it will pass in a future cycle.

Lets look at it this way. There are 3 options:

Option 1: Work with Community to first determine our BHAG.

This already has the support of you, me, @Gerrald (He liked my above post) and indirectly appears to be supported by the entire Community. (All discussions related to the need for a BHAG have been positive.)

You can start on it RIGHT NOW. No vote is required, as no funds are involved.

Option 2: Continue with this proposal.

Based on feedback in this proposal and the preliminary discussion, odds are this proposal will NOT pass. Sadly, that will likely undermine any future efforts on Option 1.

Option 3: Start on Option 1, and re-group for Option 2 later.

This does not increase the amount of work required. Just re-orders it.

It separates the BHAG from the rest of your proposal.

It provides an opportunity to gain support from others that are not yet convinced to vote for your proposal.

You will most likely learn a significant amount that will shape an update to this proposal.

It gives much more time for people to consider your proposal and provide respectful, constructive feedback.

I hope this helps!

As has always been said for everyone and every proposal. Volunteer first and prove it's worthwhile. Show everyone it's worthwhile.

Prove me wrong it's worth it i welcome it but the problem is you want to know everything and be involved in every part of pivx which I think goes completely against the dao and how it should work. People put seperate proposals in for the role they want and how they will work. They do not put a proposal in to then be told this is not the right way and you need to change it to and do it this way.

Thank you for your feedback. I agree that starting with the community to determine the BHAG (Option 1) is a valuable approach and aligns with my intentions. In fact, I’ve already begun informal discussions with some community members to understand their perspectives and build momentum. The BHAG proposed in this text is merely a starting point, a first idea to inspire dialogue rather than a predefined goal.

I believe there might be a few misunderstandings worth addressing:

  1. While the BHAG is an essential part of the proposal, it’s not the sole focus. My intention is to foster community cohesion, improve DAO structure, and create a supportive, inclusive environment. These elements are interconnected with defining the BHAG and can progress in parallel.
  2. Informal conversations have already provided valuable insights. This proposal aims to formalize and expand these efforts, ensuring they have the structure and resources needed to succeed.
  3. I see no need to separate the BHAG discussions from the rest of the proposal. Both the BHAG and the proposed new structure are steps toward unifying the community and achieving greater alignment.
With this proposal text, I introduced the first idea of the BHAG and the new structure as a way to get the ball rolling. I see that I could make a more explicit call for community thoughts and feedback on both the BHAG and the proposed structure.

Thank you again for your input.

Prove me wrong it's worth it i welcome it but the problem is you want to know everything and be involved in every part of pivx which I think goes completely against the dao and how it should work.

It looks like there's a huge misunderstanding about my intentions. I thought I had been clear, but maybe I haven't. My goal was never to take a leading or managing role at any point of the process, and I mentioned that explicitly in the proposal.

Working in the proposed role includes being involved, but not in a way to do or command or know or to be involved in every part of PIVX.
