My Thoughts - Nov 26, 2025.

Why this letter?:

There are a bunch of changes happening in the PIVX Governance system. Not in terms of its design, but how it is being used. This has caused significant confusion. This document explains my position on this.

Preamble:

I am not going to get into details. My DMs are full with everything from hard facts, to ultimatums, to blatant gossip. All to try and influence me. So, I am going to try and stay 'High-Level' and use point form.

Summary:

Everyone is of course biased to favor what their specialty is. There is nothing wrong with that. But, there are not enough funds for everyone. The math is the math is the math. This is what has caused so much stress this cycle. Until the price increases dramatically, I expect it will continue. MNOs should target the best 'balance' for PIVX. That means maximizing value. Proposal authors must do what they can to make the decision process as easy as possible for MNOs.

What Needs to Change:

Well, for starters, we need to;

1. Make it easier for MNOs to know HOW to vote.

This means communicating to MNOs via comments on each proposal on the forum.
Anyone can do this. You do not have to own a MN to have an opinion and constructive criticism.
In fact, completing 'Due Diligence' for MNOs is an easy way to influence vote outcomes.
If you want to remain anonymous with your feedback, setup a new Forum account.
If you are worried people will still know who you are, use AI to alter your wording.

2. Increase competition among proposals.

People need to submit their proposal, even if there isn't enough budget.
The system was designed to expect far more proposals than the Treasury can fund.
Competition is good for PIVX!

3. Prioritize NEEDS over WANTS.

Just because a family wants to eat steak 3x a week, doesn't mean they need it.
Sometimes, money is tight, and the 'want to have' things need to be set aside for the 'need to have' ones.

4. Keep PIVX priority over 'Powered By PIVX' projects.

Projects that support PIVX are of no value, if PIVX doesn't stay strong on its own.
We need to make sure PIVX focuses on itself first.

5. Filter out 'average' proposals, and support 'stellar' ones.

In a healthy proposal system, there are many proposals that are passing but not funded.
This should be the new normal. With too few proposals, perception is accepted/rejected.
With many proposals, just 10 or 20 votes can change things dramatically.
That means smaller MNOs have more of a say!
It also changes the perception that passing proposals not funded are not 'rejected'.
They just need to improve their value proposition!

6. Recognize that lack of skill or capacity can be resolved with additional resources.

Things are changing all the time. Lack of skills in an area can be resolved with AI, or training.
If the effort is too large for the given timeline, schedule can slip, or more people added.
It all comes down to transparency and communication. Then we can find solutions.

7. Understand that TRUST is fragile! Breaking it can undermine even the strongest reputation.

This is not a PIVX issue. This is a life issue. Everyone is replaceable.
PIVX is 'trustless', but if the team members can't be trusted, how can we expect PIVX to be trusted?

8. Build and protect TRUST with regular communication and transparency throughout the Community.

Again, this is a 'life issue'. It shouldn't need any explanation. But, some people just don't get it.
Attacking other proposals, instead of resolving the issues with your own, is very telling.
It gives me great pause and erodes trust. Such an approach is self-defeating. Vote decisions get easy.

9. Realize that complacency in PIVX is dangerous.

PIVX is not a big behemoth corporation where a person can just 'cruise' along with minimal effort.
Everyone needs to work hard, stay efficient, and keep learning. A year ago, AI wasn't always a solution.
Now however, if you are not using AI daily, you are being complacent. Get on the learning curve now.

10. PIVX is a Privacy focused project.

I should never be asked if I am supporting a proposal or not. The entire system is designed to enable privacy.
Moving forward, my answer to such questions is going to be that I support everyone in their efforts to submit a proposal.
If you are banking on only getting my support, and leveraging the voter apathy out there, we're doing it wrong.

Conclusion:

I will continue to be approachable. But, I am going to demand the summary of our discussions to be added to the proposal on the forum. Our discussions will be focused on how you can add to the value proposition of your proposal. That's it. This will elevate ALL proposals. Further, if someone expresses concern that their proposal is going to 'bump' someone else's lower, I'm going to be pissed. Because if we focus on making individual PIVians happy, then PIVX will fail. Conversely, if we focus on PIVX first, then PIVX will succeed and ALL PIVians will be happy beyond our wildest dreams.

PIV Long and Prosper!
