PIVX Fork Federation - Creating the PIVX Codeisphere

Cryptosi

Active Pivian
In 2019, a vulnerability in the stake modifier threatened every chain running the PIVX codebase. Core opened a Discord, organized the fork devs, and the patch went out everywhere. Several devs who came through that channel are core contributors to PIVX today.

Coordination worked. It just was never made permanent.

We're making it permanent: the PIVX Fork Federation (PFF) — an alliance of chains built on the PIVX codebase. Not a merger, not a parent company, not a chain of command. A federation.

The receipt
In early October I ran a full programmatic scan of the PIVX fork network on GitHub — 700+ forks total. The honest numbers: ~30 repos pushed in the last 24 months, most of them devs' working copies. Five genuine fork projects are still actively committing: Lunarium, FreedomCoin, Noctari, Maria Coin, and LATS. Nearly 700 forks, and almost none of them talk to each other. That's not a sad statistic — it's the market failure this exists to fix.

What it is
  • Equal seats. One chain, one vote. 12 masternodes or 12,000 — size buys nothing but responsibility.
  • A social space for PIVX fork devs to discuss tech and biz devs to share contacts and opportunities.
[*]A breeding ground for dev talent, afterall most of our current CORE team are former fork devs, and we could of had LOADS more believe me.
[*]A pre-built place to help incubate young PIVX forks that start life purely as app chains, they will be chains that exist purely to govern a decentralised application.
[*]Security above rivalry. Patches travel faster than exploits. When a vuln drops, intel flows to every member immediately — competitors included, especially competitors. Members also share access to code reviewers and a review archive, so nobody re-reviews the same code from scratch.
[*]One honest door. Everything is public and minuted — except the Patch Room, where unpatched vuln intel moves under embargo. Its minutes publish when the patch does (30 days max). Leak an embargo, lose your membership.
[*]PIVX holds one seat. Same as everyone. No veto, no privilege. The chain that spawned 700+ forks taking one equal seat is the whole thesis in an image.

What it is not
Not a launchpad. Not a fund. Not a marketing agency. Not a government. And not a PIVX takeover vehicle.
Not something that will ever come begging for time from CORE, We didnt before and we wont now, CORE focuses on pivx, we focus on the PIVX Codeisphere

Where it stands — honestly
The manifesto and charter are drafted (full register charter: membership bar, amendment rules, exit clauses, the works). The federation page is live at pivx.daowatch.org/federation and both documents will be published there this week. Founding seats are being offered to the active forks — nothing is signed yet, which is exactly why this thread exists.

Questions I actually want argued
  1. What would make YOUR fork's community actually sign this? Genuinely asking — that number is the charter.
  2. Which forks should I approach, I've already approached Kerrigan and Lunarium, what are some others?
  3. What potential risks am I not considering?

Please ask any questions to help me to really be precise with what I'm doing here.

I'd love to be supported by the community on this, in particular sigge and jeffrey are two people who I really would want involved along with Jameel.

Thanks again for reading
