DAO Proposal: “PIVX is EASY” On-Demand Pilot + Privacy Narrative Sprint
(Prepared by 0xBDV - August 2025)
Overview

This proposal focuses on designing an easy-to-implement, transparent, and low-friction merchant
package for onboarding customers to PIVX via MyPIVXwallet, not yet deploying it to merchants. The
package will be optimised for near-zero staff training and future rollout by Ambassadors or partners in
a subsequent funding cycle.

First Use Merchant Pilot: Design Phase
I will develop graphics and a 'merchant package' to roll out an easy to implement, easy to
police, hard to game, fully transparent system for restaurant/cafe type merchants to on-board
their customers to PIVX via MyPIVXwallet. Goal is that it will require near zero training for staff
or merchant owner, other than displaying a PIVX sign with a QR code for more info.

During the design of this system, I will involve the Community to ensure the design is as simple
as possible, and leverage any contacts they have with merchants they may know, but I have
my own contacts as well. I understand things like this have been tried before, and I will learn
from the community what worked, and what didn't.
In a following cycle, and perhaps a dedicated proposal outside the Ambassador program, this
system will roll-out to at least one merchant, so we can optimise it before equipping other
Ambassadors or partners.

Privacy Narrative Sprint
The merchant package will carry a unified narrative to ensure consistent messaging across signage,
handouts, and future digital assets:

Privacy is a RIGHT. For Privacy, PIVX is the Standard.

Customers

  • Responsibility – You control your money and data.
  • Independence – Pay anyone, anywhere, no gatekeepers.
  • Guaranteed Privacy – Yours alone.
  • Human Freedom – No surveillance or censorship.
  • Trusted by You – No middlemen.

Merchants
  • Retention – Perks bring people back.
  • Increased Margins – Save 2–3% on fees.
  • Growth – Reach privacy-conscious buyers.
  • Hedge – Hold & stake PIVX to earn upto 13%/year..
  • Turnkey – Simple QR setup.

Crypto-Natives
  • Rewards – Stake & earn.
  • Interoperability – Works with PIVX tools.
  • Governance – Shape the DAO.
  • Hard Privacy – Shielded by default.
  • Trustless Protocol – Verify > trust.

Deliverables
  • Graphics and signage templates (with placeholder QR code area)
  • Merchant explainer one-pager (customer + merchant benefits)
  • Staff-ready “1-2-3” quick-start guide
  • Social media post templates for merchant promotion
  • Design review with DAO community before finalisation

Funding Request
4430 PIV (USD$600) + 50 PIV (Submission fee) = 4,480 PIV

Dear PIVX DAO Community
Thank you again for your support on the “PIVX is Easy” proposal. I’m grateful to now share visual proof of delivery for the Phase 1 content and campaign assets designed to reinforce the power, elegance, and real-world utility of PIVX.

Delivery Proof – Attached Screenshots Below:
  1. PIVX is Easy Design Report – 3x vertical posters targeting: Customers, Merchants, and Crypto-Natives.
  2. Privacy is a RIGHT (R.I.G.H.T.) Campaign Narrative Report – strategic framing for layered messaging across use-cases.
  3. Privacy is a Right. For Privacy, PIVX is The Standard Narrative Snapshot – a visual long form article capturing the broader philosophical campaign framing.
  4. X Thread Preview – a supporting post excerpt for the long form article
Bonus Deliverable – “One More Thing”:
  • Included are two ambient 10s video loops showcasing café and pub PIVX usage
Early Preview: Phase 2 – PIVX A-OK (Ambassador Operational Kit):
Though originally proposed as a future-phase extension, I’ve also attached a comprehensive execution draft of the Ambassador Operational Kit — the foundation for a repeatable, IRL merchant rollout program.
This kit outlines a GTM structure, cost estimation, and Standard Operating Protocols for scaling real-world merchant adoption with simplicity.
⚠️ Note: The A-OK report is an early preview. Further visual assets or supporting documentation will follow, pending feedback and resourcing discussions.

Thank you again for your ongoing trust and encouragement. Excited to keep building. 🙏🏽

Thank you for the update!

I would love to see a well thought out package, officially branded with all the materials needed, in as simple as possible format, for Ambassadors to onboard Merchants.

You have flushed out the ideas and concepts with this proposal. Let's call that 'Phase 1'.

Your 'Phase 2 Preview' basically lists everything else from idea to execution. That is an absolute massive undertaking. Far more effort than I think you realize. You won't be able to deliver on it all, and then everything up to that point will have been for nothing. We need to move to execution ASAP, but we need to be prepared. Basically, a MVP (Minimal Viable Product) solution, that we can put into action real soon, so we can learn what obstacles lie ahead. User acceptance (Both Merchant and Customer) is key, and that means getting rid of all pain points.

I think next we need 'Phase 2' to scaled way back and be a full breakdown of the steps in a very specific use case scenario, and in extreme detail. Only then can we see exactly where the pain points are that we need to mitigate/eliminate.

Let's picture a coffee shop.

We need to find ways to have near zero impact on the business, at least in 'trial mode', with no staff training and no hassle if they decide to bail from the plan. This means making sure there is no difficulty with their cash register, Point of Sale, inventory, or accounting systems. If we can do that, then on-boarding will still be effort - but WAY WAY easier for everyone involved.

Most cafes have run some sort of campaign in the past, where they offer a free coffee when you have spent $X.

I think we have all seen these before:

_coffee_card.jpg

Such a system meets the requirements. Zero training. The odd coffee handed out for free doesn't show up in inventory, and doesn't even touch their cash register, Point of Sale, inventory, or accounting systems.

For a pilot, we need to have the PIVX equivalent of that system.

What's great about it, is that it will create a circle .... customers who engage with the campaign, will receive some PIV each time from the Merchant ..... and later they can spend it at the Merchant to get a free coffee, and the Merchant's pool of PIV is topped up, ready to hand out small amounts again. Leveraging our Ambassadors, the Merchant can top up, simply by letting the Ambassador buy some coffees. No crypto exchanges required.

We can't make the system as simple as the above hard-copy paper version. But, everyone stopped doing those cards, because they were easily counterfeited. That has left a major opportunity that PIVX can solve, because PIVX can't be counterfeited!

I would like to see 'Phase 2' absolutely NAIL defining the steps in great detail. Graphic design can follow after that.

Just a few of the pain points that need to be resolved completely ....

1. How does the customer learn about MyPIVXwallet? Store window decal? Or, visible decal while waiting in line? Decal affixed to table surface? Signage behind counter?
2. What does that decal do? Is it just a QR code to hit a landing page specific for the Cafe or a page on PIVX.org specific to this use case?
3. Once they understand they need to download a wallet .... do they get confused it is a crypto wallet, that has nothing to so with the Cafe? Do they question why it isn't in the App Store?
4. How do we learn what those answers are ahead of time?
5. Maybe the goal is not to get them running with MPW for that first purchase, but plant the seed so they are ready next time? Everyone has heard of crypto, but many have not had the time to learn about it. Maybe we present this as a zero risk way to get on the learning curve so they can finally say they OWN crypto to their friends, and that it was EASY!
6. So, they are back at the Cafe, with MPW installed. Does the merchant open their cell phone, and send PIV to the person's MPW instance on their cell phone? Or, does the merchant give them a slip of paper from the cash register, that has a QR code for them to SWEEP funds into their MPW? That sounds risky, but no more risky to the merchant that cash in the register. They have cameras and processes to 'balance the cash drawer' for each employee shift.
7. If QR codes are printed with PIV to sweep, how do they do that printing? How are the QR code addresses determined?
8. Does the PIVX Labs infrastructure provide tools that make this easier? PIVX Rewards? (Replaces PIVX Promo codes?)
9. How does a person pay? Maybe there is a dedicated tablet to show transactions received at a specific address? Then the pool gets topped up?
10. Can the customer pay for anything? Or just pay to get a 'free' coffee?

I am certain that when generating answers to those questions, you will find many many more. The goal MUST be to make it as simple as possible.

My guess is the messaging targets:

1. PIVX accepted here.
2. Earn 'PIVX Points'.

Plus, we may need to develop an app that simply displays their Shield Address to receive payments, and a big green Check mark shown the instant it hits the mempool.

Once we get this all figured out, then we will know exactly what graphics we need to prepare for a PILOT.

I think Phase 3 will be finding a Merchant, ideally in a location where many of our Advocates are, and we organize a 'Flash Mob' to help identify the kinks in the system etc.

Hope that all makes sense.

Appreciate the clear input, Eric🙏
You're spot on that what has been outlined is ambitious, and I fully agree that Phase 2 needs to be scoped way down into a lean MVP we can trial fast.
I love the coffee shop use-case and the “PIVX-Points” analogue to the old punch card system, it’s elegantly simple, and you're right that the big unlock is zero staff training, no cash register interference, and easy trial-offboarding.

Let me start mapping this out visually and operationally step-by-step for the pilot. I’ll come back as soon as possible.
Will circle back with something you (and the community) can get stuck into

I am going to add one more concept.

I think 'Phase 2' needs to literally be a 'script' for 'actors' and with 'settings'. The setting will primarily be at the cafe. But, there likely are actions the customer will do at home, and the business owner may do off-site etc.

Think of all the actors, and write the script for the entire 'play'.

There will be Ms. Coupon Collector Customer, Joe Blue Collar Customer, Fred IT Support Customer, New Staff Sam, Established Staff Sally, PIVX Ambassador, Owen the Owner, etc. etc.

Some of their scripts may be in parallel, but most will be sequential.

With all that spelled out, we know exactly what supporting material is needed, and what the content is pretty much too.

Have fun!
