Vector transfer from discord to be main place for chat?

With Vector nearly complete, is there a plan to transition away from Discord?
Given Discord’s recent major breach — and the fact that PIVX funded the development of Vector — it seems logical that Vector should become our main communication hub.

Moving to a decentralized, PIVX-powered chat platform would also help remove the disproportionate control a few individuals currently hold over bans. It would be a strong example of practicing the decentralization we promote.

On the topic of moderation, I believe it’s important that moderators don’t ban users simply based on personal opinions or disagreements. Instead, perhaps a “hide user” or “mute” feature (similar to X/Twitter) could be implemented, allowing individuals to curate their own experience without enforcing centralized censorship.

Let’s discuss this further — it’s an important step for the future of community communication and governance.

We're actually beginning to trial this in the Labs team! In the coming days, most of the internal PIVX Labs team will be communicating over Vector for enhanced security and to stress-test the platform for our November release of Group Chats.

With regards to the public servers (Labs + Core communities), no intent on a 'full switch' is planned just yet, we'd probably need Channels for organisation, as currently, Vector Groups essentially work like Telegram channels, good for single topics, but not great for organising thousands of people with neat channels.

Moderation is something that only Group Owners can decide, on that point; it is up to community creators to curate their policies, not the Vector team. We do provide a Mute feature, though.

Anyone is free to create their own community, and the biggest point of all: Vector as a platform cannot in itself censor anyone, individuals nor groups, unlike Discord or Telegram, the platform has no almighty dictator, the true strength of decentralised platforms!
