This document outlines the funding for a new proposed PIVX Marketing & Biz Development Direction. This proposal will NOT be used to pay the submitters, or those stewarding the amounts. This proposal is the first of its kind proposal for PIVX that aims to solely put aside 100% of the amount towards PIVX Promotions & Business Development, which may be used to cover such costs as the exchange listing fees, paid promotions and articles, payments for PIVX’s co-operations with well-known cryptocurrency influencers, establish the important alliances and partnerships, trading competitions, supporting the liquidity and trading volume in occasions when there’s a risk of delisting from an important exchange due to low volume, and more. To reiterate, no member of this team will be paid from these amounts. We are strictly volunteers who will give our time and energy to promote, marketing, and integrate PIVX as effectively, efficiently, and loudly as we can while stewarding and consciously directing any required funds as needed for maximal impact. **This is a replacement for PIVX-MBD-OCTDEC2020 which was nuked (downvoted >10% NO) in its infancy. After this occurred, we observed a lot of community support in FAVOR of the proposal, so we elected to resubmit.**

Term and Format Commitment

As this proposal can be looked at as more of a sinking fund (in that, funds MUST be used as needed for marketing business development purposes, but without any predetermined outflow), the PIVX Marketing & Biz Dev Blitzkrieg Team (MBDB) will only be submitting this proposal with a maximum term of three (3) cycles.

This allows for a more fluid evaluation of fund usage (outflows, requirements), will allow for more or less frequent proposal submissions based on needs, more responsibility from voters to actually vote, and also allows for any changes due to larger swings in PIVX USD value.

The format for these proposals will be as follows:
  • Each member of the MBDB team will be listed
  • Their roles and responsibilities will be listed
  • Any member notes, changes, exceptions will be listed
  • Extra funds (if any) will be rationalized
MBDB team members will not be reporting hours worked, and task specifics will NOT be listed in monthly reports so as to not burden the volunteers with unnecessary busywork. However, macro-level reporting of:

  • Funds Available
  • Funds Used
  • Initiatives Started (if allowable, as some may require elements or privacy until their release. In these cases, the MBDB team will provide a high level redacted summary of any of these initiatives)

All MBDB Team members are expected to participate in the general work of marketing and Biz Dev, as well as participate in weekly internal team meetings with reliable frequency.

The following initiatives fall under the care and responsibility of the PIVX MBDB:

Brand Warmth Enhancement
Website (new) Marketing boosting
Privacy (v5) Marketing boosting
Exchange listings
Partnership / Alliances
Exchange Volume Boost
3rd Party reviews (unpaid) of PIVX, positive media and chatter feedback of PIVX

PIVX MBDB Allotment

The PIVX MBDB Team is receiving 0 PIV for their work from the DAO’s budget:
  • SnappySnap - BizDev, copy, articles (0 PIV)
  • Ambassador - Marketing, articles (0 PIV)
  • Jakiman - BizDev, copy, articles (0 PIV)
***IMPORTANT NOTE: By mentioning “copy, articles”, it doesn’t mean an obligation for any of the MBDB team members to provide copy to the marketing team, it's up to the individual's desire to assist in such activities outside of this proposal. Copy/articles are intended to be written among MBDB team members for business development purposes within the scope of this proposal.

Before any funds may be released for Marketing or Biz Dev purposes, a member of the MBDB Team must propose (internally) the use of funds, the purpose, and amount. Only a unanimous vote of 3 (the MBDB must be in agreement) will be sufficient for subsequent dispersal of funds.
A ledger and record of these requests and outflows will be made available to the public and may contain redacted information based on any NDAs or time/market-sensitive uses.

Total Per Cycle: 4000 PIV

Donations and Receiving of Additional Funds

Any funds received by the proposal payout address from any source other than the PIVX network’s in-built budget distribution system will be considered as donations to be stewarded in the same fashion as explained above.

For complete transparency, a receiving address for donations is the same as the proposal’s receiving address, and it is the following address:

IMPORTANT NOTE: We DO encourage the PIVX community to additionally donate to this Marketing Fund even if it gets funded from the PIVX budget. Be assured that every single additional PIV donated to this fund will be used in the best possible way to increase the PIVX price. The larger Marketing Fund gets, the more quality possibilities in all mentioned areas above are coming into consideration, which brings endless opportunities.

Funds are being received to the active staking wallet, in order to increase the Marketing Budget further while funds are waiting for deployment.

The PIVX MBDB Team reserves the right to decide for ourselves the area(s) of focus that may or may not be added due to an increase in funds received, as well as the priority of any such added areas of focus.

A lot has been put into place over the past 2 weeks. @Ambassador#2984 myself and @jakiman#8633 have been working/building, and this was only recently augmented by the MN voting yes to entrust PIV to an escrowed address to be used for the sole purpose of marketing & biz dev activities. We're grateful for that trust, and, we will continue to keep the community apprised of efforts, work, and progress AS PERMITTED (Some elements that we put into place already, cannot be disclosed).

As an example or our work we've being doing:

--> The PIVX-SENT proposal was formed, and passed. This means we have just started PIVX's second official alliance with another cryptocurrency this year. We have a ALL HANDS ON / COMMUNITY call lined up for this sunday (oct 18th).

--> We are discussing another large Alliance currently (PIVX - ???) and are tenatively scheduling this for 2 weeks from sunday on Nov 1.

--> A lot of our efforts are focused on helping the marketing/bizdev angles of the website, and seeing that to completion as well.

--> We've started to assemble some key/trusted PIVIANs to assist with marketing efforts, and will continue to organize, refine, and report our process.

Very much looking forward to these next 3 month sprints towards greatness with you all, and well, beyond 3 months. Just, the next 90 days will be beautfully purple.

Hi All!

Here is the 1-month report on the use/utilization of funds and all activities (some redacted) pertaining to this proposal.

We have additionally provided insights into the "biz dev" activities to provide clarity into the volunteer work of @Ambassador @jakiman and myself (@Snappy).

This list is NOT comprehensive but should give some insight into what "we" have done collectively.

TOTAL BALANCE REMAINING: 8643 (8300 from the budget, 343piv was donated).

Over the past 25 days:

  1. The PIVX-SENT proposal was formed and passed. This means we have just started PIVX's second official alliance with another cryptocurrency this year

  2. We are discussing another large Alliance currently (PIVX - ???) and are tentatively scheduling this in November

  3. We have opened lines of communication with Zcash regarding their Anycoin Direct delisting in order to team up with them for any potential upcoming exchange delistings, mostly due to uneducated exchanges about the FATF Travel Rule compliance.

  4. Anycoin Direct contacted in regards to the PIVX delisting, still no response.

  5. Zcash communication lines are open and active.

  6. Large DeFi platform -> deal almost finalized. Snappy had a call on 26th Oct 2020, Ambassador spoke with the team a few days earlier, pretty much a guaranteed deal.

  7. DeFi platform "b" -> contacted, still no response

  8. DeFi platform "c" -> demanding $10k for listing, which we don't currently have in budget

  9. Large staking pool connecting staking to DeFi platform "d" -> contacted, still no response

  10. DeFi platform "e" -> contacted, still no response

  11. Exchange deal finalized with great terms for PIVX. However, only ~13% (920 PIV) of the requested amount (7000 PIV) has been collected, and the deal is in peril of not occurring.

  12. Plan for post-PIVX.org website release (around 10th Nov): contact mid-range exchanges for potential PIVX listing

  13. Around the Sapling release on testnet (hopefully end of November), we will be contacting the crypto media sites when we have the fixed release date for testnet

  14. Started work on a PIVX sell sheet for hedge/investment funds

  15. Exchanged information for <EXCHANGE X> listing

  16. Ongoing calls and interviews around liting PIVX on <Exchange Y>

  17. Compiled a 17 page brief for PIVX on how itis compliant with FATF and the Travel Rules. This will/can be used for any exchange when questioning the legitimacy and legality of listing PIVX on its exchange service

  18. Developed concept to do side by side screenshot comparisons of wallets synching from scratch.

Hi All!

Here is the 2nd report on the use/utilization of funds and all activities (some redacted) pertaining to this proposal.

We have additionally provided insights into the "biz dev" activities to provide clarity into the volunteer work of @Ambassador @jakiman and myself (@Snappy).

This list is NOT comprehensive but should give some insight into what "we" have done collectively.

AS a reminder: @jakiman , @Ambassador , and myself have received 0 PIV from these two proposals for our efforts. All outflows/disbursements are provided below and accounted for in their proper category, and indexed to provide clarity on their use.
Hours logged
: 100+
Cost for Labor / Time: $0

Over the past 25 days:

  1. The PIVX-ARK alliance was proposed. The initial call was scheduled and postponed to allow for more engagement. This will be the third alliance for PIVX this year if passed.

  2. 4 weekly market reports were compiled and posted.

  3. We picked up a press release package deal (in order to push out/distribute 13 different press releases throughout the coming year) - This fell under distribution for promotions.

  4. We have continued lines of communication with Zcash regarding their Anycoin Direct delisting in order to team up with them for any potential upcoming exchange delistings, mostly due to uneducated exchanges about the FATF Travel Rule compliance.

  5. Large Exchange “A" -> after nearly 40 hours of communications, emails, and explanations, we have successfully been greenlighted to their business development team for integration. No date of listing yet, but expect Q1 2021.

  6. Large Exchange “B”- > 20+ hours resulting in the successful negotiation of listing fee. Contracts signed and scheduled listing within 2 weeks. This will include BTC and USDT trading pairs and active staking rewards for holding the coins on the exchange. This expense fell under “distribution for exchange”.

  7. After compiling a 17 page brief for PIVX on how it is compliant with the FATF Travel Rule, we’ve begun pairing pertinent information from this to prepare for a dedicated page on the new website.

  8. 30+ third-party platforms were contacted to let them know of the new site, and new copy/terminology to use when referencing PIVX.

  9. Finalizing a PIVX sell sheet for hedge/investment funds.

  10. Actively worked on 2 exchanges to increase trade volumes during the worst days by trading volume to prevent delisting. This fell under “distribution for liquidity”.

  11. Wrote 2 different press releases for distribution.

  12. Wrote 2 unique blog posts for website release and SHIELD announcement.

  13. Worked vigorously to promote the website and SHIELD announcements online through various support means on social media and other platforms.

  14. After a long time, successfully updated all the information about PIVX on CoinMarketCap: all the links to the PIVX Discord, Telegram, Forum, block explorers, GitHub, Technical Documentation, added correct tags about coin characteristics and updated the long PIVX description aligned with the upcoming v5.0. Last, but most important, PIVX supply has been stuck on CoinMarketCap at ~56 million PIV for years, now is being fixed to the number (64+ million) and is being automatically updated every few hours, ensuring that PIVX market cap is as high as possible, same as the Rank number.

  15. In contact with WorldCoinIndex to update all the information about PIVX, add new exchanges, descriptions, update links, and show proper coin supply.

  16. Communicating and negotiating with various cryptocurrency media sites for potential promotion of the v5.0 release.

  17. Keeping the active connection with multiple exchanges for potential PIVX listing.

  18. Keeping the active connection with the core development team to fulfill the gaps and ensure on-time updates for the community. The active connection between the core development and marketing/biz-dev activities due to upcoming 5.0 release and new challenges for the PIVX business development to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements.

  19. Supporting the Reddit promotions by generating new ideas, content creation and other needs for increased efficiency.

With the release of v5.0 right around the corner, we expect additional dispersals in order to cover article placements. We additionally may be facing some listing fee costs and with these exchanges, will 100% want to have available PIV to rapidly provide this.

Actively working on the blog post announcement for the 5.0 public testnet release.

-8,750 PIV
