Active PIVX Turkey Promotion Work

talhatr

Active Pivian
First of all, I wish the entire PIVX community happy holidays.
I would like to resubmit a proposal for activities in Turkey.

For the first time in a long while, I have seen genuine support from the community for a real Turkish user contributing to PIVX. I believe this momentum will lead to positive progress.

My plans for the upcoming period are more dynamic:

  • Following the Istanbul crypto event I attended, I will represent PIVX as a speaker at a crypto conference towards the end of January.
  • With Batuhan joining the Turkish community, I now have someone to share responsibilities with.
  • My immediate goal is to plan events on Telegram to further energize the community.
  • I am negotiating with local businesses in my area to offer discounts for PIVX users and working on the details.
  • Thanks to Twitter subscriptions, we have access to analytics, which provide positive data for progress.
  • Batuhan and I will collaborate this month to translate PIVX resources into Turkish.
  • Weekly YouTube videos will be shared regularly.
  • Daily short videos for social media are being prepared.
  • I am trying to communicate with Turkish representatives of exchanges like Gate.io, MEXC, Binance, and Bitmart. Additionally, I am working on planning an event where PIVX will be at the forefront.
  • Seven articles are ready to be published on Medium.
Two options are being considered for YouTube videos. Hawtch’s YouTube advertising statistics show positive results. In this context, I plan to run ad campaigns for the long videos we will post weekly on the PIVX Turkey YouTube channel.

I believe that by the end of this proposal period, all of our statistics and progress will reach at least 2-3 times their current levels. If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know!
With Twitter premium, we will now analyze on a monthly basis. I also aim to keep these statistics on youtube

YouTube short videos will continue to be released more consistently and effectively. Additionally, with YouTube ad campaigns, we believe the average views will increase by +200-300.
I am waiting for all your questions, positive and negative. I am fixing the offer size at 3600 PIVX compared to last months as I am also considering the other Turkish Ambassador. I must emphasize that I will receive the necessary requests for the Conference next month, but that will be next month's topic. (Of course the MN owners and the community will decide)

Thank you to everyone who voted / Rejected.

  • Planning is underway to make the Telegram group more active and to invite new people. (Recently, there have been many people speculating about the price.) To address this situation, more awareness-focused content needs to be created, and we are working on this.
    • I made a potential agreement with a business, but this involves a cost for us. It’s a food business, and they agreed to use PIVX logos on all their menus and delivery boxes if we can sponsor them. However, since this involves a cost, it needs to be evaluated more broadly.
    • I had a meeting with Leacymyk, and we realized something we hadn’t thought of before. Although the PIVX official website has been translated into many languages, Turkish is not among them. Therefore, we want to translate the pivx.org website into Turkish. We will discuss this as soon as possible.
    • Batuhan has taken on the task of producing YouTube videos about PIVX and has released one more video. However, I believe it would be better to proceed differently. Progress can be accelerated by sharing videos on both his personal channel and PIVX's official YouTube channel.
    • I am trying to meet with representatives of crypto exchanges where PIVX is listed. However, all of them have stated that they are currently not suitable for an AMA event and suggested simpler events (such as Telegram events). But they are also asking for a budget for this. That’s why we will organize an event with an exchange we truly believe in.
    • Articles have started to be published on Medium and will continue:
    • This month, two Privacy Podcast recordings will be made. The estimated date for the first recording is January 17. The event will be held via Google Meet, and there will be one video recording and one audio recording.
    • We were also publishing articles on Substack, but the account was suspended for an unknown reason. Necessary appeals have been made.
      substrack.png

Thanks to the annual Twitter subscription, we can now clearly view our statistics.
      • A new X account will be created. The PIVX Türkiye account will share translations of official visuals, articles, and other official content.
      • The new X account we will create will be called PIVX Türkiye Topluluğu. This account will share visuals and videos we prepare ourselves.
      • In this way, we will professionally maintain the brand awareness of the official PIVX Türkiye X account.
      • If you have any questions, please let me know.

        twista.png
      • Of course, updates will be shared tomorrow

This feedback is common to both Turkish proposals. I will post this same message on both.

I am having trouble reviewing both Turkish proposals.

Both list off many valuable line items to accomplish. However, understanding what has been completed each month is difficult. I am worried both are extremely over optimistic as to what can be accomplished. Ideas are easy. Execution is hard.

I get that things change, and unexpected hurdles present themselves all the time. So, I am not expecting everything to be completed. But, what would help me greatly, is a list of items that are completed each month. My concern is that months will pass, and the net sum of these proposals will be that many things were tried, and almost nothing was completed. There is value in starting small, and doing fewer things well, rather than starting many things and completing none.

Now, I realize that both proposals are brand new, but there have been prior proposals, and I am not seeing clear 'traction' being achieved with either. That doesn't mean it isn't there ..... it's just hard to pull out and separate from the long list of updates and messages.

Perhaps once a month, you can each prepare a brief list for; 1) Efforts Started, 2) Efforts with progress - and what that progress is, 3) Efforts completed and what the result is.

Once you have done this for your current proposals, then I can better decide how to vote.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

You are partially correct in your statements. However, this is not about wanting to do many things at once. Social media posts and updates are already regularly managed by Leacymyk and shared with us. The key point here is what we aim to achieve. In my proposals, I provide information about various developments, such as meetings with exchange representatives or podcasts. However, in these cases, the initiative is not entirely in my hands. I try to reach out to as many people as possible via email and messages.

I will, of course, share monthly progress updates in my proposal.
Based on the commitments I made, I can already provide a progress report:

  • Currently, no events have been planned on Telegram. However, we agreed on organizing a social media event this Saturday with a prize pool of 1,000 PIVX. The aim is to invite people to the Telegram group and increase our focus on reaching more individuals.
  • Businesses cannot officially accept PIVX payments at the moment due to regulatory issues. However, if we have sponsorship opportunities, they’ve expressed their willingness to use materials such as menus, service plates, and t-shirts featuring our logos.
This would require funding, and given the current circumstances, I have concerns about whether it’s the right time to proceed with this.
  • I’ve shared Twitter statistics and will share a one-month summary again at the end of this month.
  • We discussed translating PIVX resources into Turkish yesterday, and we will start by translating the pivx.org website.
  • I’ve been collaborating with Batuhan for YouTube videos and social media content. One YouTube video has already been published, and we’re awaiting the release of the next one. I know his baby is unwell.
  • Articles have been published on Medium and will continue to be updated regularly. The next article is scheduled for release on Thursday.
  • Regarding advertising for YouTube shorts, we planned to consult with Hawtch. However, I added some funds to my Google Ads account from my budget and attempted to promote the video. Unfortunately, it wasn’t approved because it contains "cryptocurrency" content. I need to develop a strategy for this.
  • There are, of course, other developments that I haven’t mentioned here. For example, the crypto event I attended last year will be held again this year with more participants and greater scale. At last year’s event, I made direct connections with GCB and BingX exchanges and facilitated communication with Jeffrey. Although discussions with BingX exchange took place in a Telegram group, they were put on hold as Jeffrey had plans with other exchanges.
This year, I informed Jeffrey about the event and suggested he participate as a speaker. He said he couldn’t attend physically due to travel commitments but could potentially join digitally. We’re also considering renting a stand for PIVX at this event.

There are other updates I haven’t shared because I need to secure them before announcing anything.

I am here and have no hesitation about going out into the field to promote PIVX to people.
Update reports will now be shared in a more organized manner. Your decision may be positive or negative, but at the very least, I am happy to provide honest updates about all progress.

Summary:

I am really struggling with providing feedback for the 2 Turkish proposals. I am going to detail my concerns that are common to both of them first, and I will post the same statement to each proposal. After that, I am going to update each proposal with some points specific to each.

Here are my common concerns:

1. Proposal Added-Value:

A good proposal maximizes the added-value to PIVX compared to the cost of that proposal. This typically means the focus should be on tasks that have low effort, but result in many new PIVians, or lots of positive exposure etc. etc.

So, we want to focus on tasks that are: LOW effort and HIGH value.

What I am seeing are many tasks that are: HIGH effort and LOW value.

Also, in both proposals, I see a LONG COMPLICATED list of various tasks, with the goal of demonstrating that there is a LOT of work to do, and therefore the cost of the proposal is substantial and justified. That's the wrong approach to select tasks. Worse, there is also duplication of tasks in both proposals, which increases costs, further undermining the value-added.

For example, both proposals mention working with local businesses. In addition to duplicated effort, this is LOW value (It is currently illegal for businesses to accept crypto) and HIGH effort:

From the 'PIVXCollaborationtr' proposal:

Local_Business_1.png

From the 'PIVXTR4' proposal:

Local_Business_2.png

2. Proposal Scope:

Also, both proposals mention connecting with Turkish exchanges. This is a HIGH effort HIGH value task, but the success is undermined if multiple representatives of PIVX contact the same exchanges. Further, it is a very steep learning curve to be successful at making the proper connections, determining the true value an exchange offers PIVX, and negotiating with them. Jeffrey has proven himself to be extremely skilled at this, so why isn't he taking the lead? Do the proper contacts at the exchanges only speak Turkish?

From the 'PIVXCollaborationtr' proposal:

Exchanges_1.png

From the 'PIVXTR4' proposal:

Exchanges_2.png

Both proposals should be focused on LOW effort HIGH value tasks. Over time, as trust, skills and network connections build, it makes sense to include HIGH effort tasks, but even then the tasks should NEVER be duplicated by multiple PIVians.

3. Proposal Goals and Organization given the Regulatory Environment:

In the Turkish proposals, I see comments like;

"Businesses cannot officially accept PIVX payments at the moment due to regulatory issues."

and

"While cryptocurrency payments are currently banned in Turkey ..."

So, it is my understanding that Turkey is crypto-friendly, but it doesn’t like privacy coins, and requires KYC for all types of crypto activities. It has also banned the use of cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment and for everyday use. Because of this, there is no value focusing on any task related to use cases or adoption. There is indeed significant crypto speculation activity, so that means we should focus on Awareness, Exposure and Promotion, each which support speculation.

That limits efforts to Socials and Trade Shows, both supported by Translation efforts across PIVX. It makes sense that both of you attend local Trade Shows. But, I believe that this should be detailed in a dedicated proposal.

Socials should be divided between the 2 of you, and each of you should help engage in the other's posts etc. as well as non-PIVX posts, that are crypto or privacy related.

Conclusion:

Hope this helps! I am going to take a break and then start adding feedback specific to each proposal.

There is HUGE opportunity in Turkey, but we need to spend the Treasury funds wisely and efficiently. Let's work together and make that happen!

CONCERN: YouTube Shorts.

Re the following statements in your proposal:

"Daily short videos for social media are being prepared."

"YouTube short videos will continue to be released more consistently and effectively. Additionally, with YouTube ad campaigns, we believe the average views will increase by +200-300."

"Regarding advertising for YouTube shorts, we planned to consult with Hawtch. However, I added some funds to my Google Ads account from my budget and attempted to promote the video. Unfortunately, it wasn’t approved because it contains "cryptocurrency" content. I need to develop a strategy for this."

I totally understand that growing a new social account takes a lot of time and effort. But there are ways to work more efficiently.

For example, the issue now is not content. You are duplicating that effort, when you can use existing YouTube shorts, and translate them as required with captions etc if that is the only option. Then all your effort can be focused on engaging people on Socials and getting views, likes and subscribers.

Currently, the view counts are VERY low, and you likely spent significant time making the videos. It makes more sense to flip that around, to get higher view counts, with minimal effort on the videos themselves.

I count 17 people in this screen shot of the video you made.

_group_of_17.png

Now, look at the view counts. I am guessing that those are current PIVians, checking out your work. The videos are great! But, how many NEW PIVians did they get to subscribe to the channel or view and like the videos? Near zero.

_shorts_views.png

Definitely need to investigate 'paid promotion' for these, to kick-start views, likes and subscriptions. I know that there are issues with that - but Hawtch can help you. Again - no need to duplicate efforts, when someone already did the work.

Also, the last YouTube short was published Dec 14. That's over 5 weeks of 'Daily short videos' promised and not delivered. I think consistency is very important, but daily is likely far too much effort if you are creating the videos instead of just adding Turkish captions.

SUMMARY: Over ambitious!

I praise you for wanting to do so much, but I think the above is an example of how everything takes far more work than people first realize. You've got the passion and smarts to climb the learning curve, but it takes time and is always steeper than expected. I believe that your proposal should be greatly simplified, and deliverables should be much more realistic. In this example, your proposal should be updated to post only Shorts created by the Marketing Team, but with Turkish captions. You should learn what works for 'paid promotions' for Shorts from Hawtch, and try those. Having said that, I believe that means you need to KYC yourself to YouTube, which may cause regulatory issues for you in Turkey. I am not sure.

Again - LOVE your effort. But I sense you are overly ambitious, and the level of effort needs to be lowered, while the focus on specific tasks is increased.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your valuable feedback, Eric.

You're right; I will now focus on simplifying some details and strive to deliver maximum VALUE.

  1. Collaboration with Local Businesses
From the beginning, we aimed to increase visibility by collaborating with local businesses in the areas we live in. Considering my personal proposal, I didn’t want to confuse you with complex expressions trying to justify the costs. I’ve been doing my work from the start, and I simply dream of achieving more. However, I realize that in the process of dreaming, I might come across as a bit scattered.
  2. Communication with Turkish Exchanges
Regarding communication with Turkish exchanges, I have been emphasizing the same point from the very beginning. Jeffrey and I have tried to reach out many times, but we couldn’t get any feedback. My efforts in this area involve arranging a meeting with a Turkish representative and subsequently connecting the listing team with Jeffrey. My goal is not to negotiate but to create connections so that Jeffrey can progress in the areas he’s professional in.
  3. Turkey is a Crypto-Friendly Country
Turkey is a crypto-friendly country, and this can clearly be seen in digital platforms. The main issue here is that there is no law allowing businesses to accept payments in crypto. Therefore, it’s currently prohibited. However, all other activities related to crypto can be freely organized.
  4. Implementation of Work Plans and Progress Tracking
I want to emphasize that the work plans outlined in this cycle will be implemented completely, and progress statistics will be shared here every week. Even if my proposal is not accepted in this cycle, I will continue to work as a dedicated PIVian.
  5. YouTube Shorts and Google Ads Efforts
More time has been allocated to creating YouTube Shorts videos. While we intended to use Google Ads, this is banned in Turkey. For this reason, I researched a new method and found out that it might be possible to advertise in Turkey using a VPN and a different Ads account. I will verify the accuracy of this information. Regarding the delay in videos, you are right; I assure you that this will be compensated, and with more effort, the targeted results will be achieved.

I will continue to do my utmost to represent PIVX under all circumstances. I’ve understood you very well, Eric.

If my proposal is accepted in this cycle, I will prove to you that I have established a proper system in Turkey through strategic efforts.
If it is rejected, I will still make it happen.

Best regards.

Maybe, as you say, I need to make this proposal individual and simple. I will do that tomorrow morning. Even if we coordinate, everyone should be evaluated individually.
Sincerely yours

NOTE : I met with Hawtch and requested him to share all his Youtube shorts videos with me. A sharing plan will be made by adding Turkish subtitles to all videos.

Why isn't thus available already? It doesn't need be private? Make it public and let others translate. We used to have Hanna that had a team who translated from loads of languages. The website used to be multi language... downgraded, pushed out, can't afford. Loads of reasons. Funding is there now.

AFAIK, the Marketing team just got their own instance of NextCloud and is still migrating to it. They don't have things fully configured for themselves yet, let alone anyone else. The better question is why haven't people who need access, asked for it? Further, where is the public access for their graphic source files so others can translate their work?

Kinda an answer that it should be available to everyone ye? I agree. Guess that's a @Hawtch problem? But I'm saying why not bring him in to help with the official socials? Your clearly not answering this question. Wouldn't it make more sense for socials to be expanded with extra people? But that will require him to have access! He's proven himself, you have already said tou want to support him, I'm not sure why your trying to ignore my expansion of his proposal? Doesn't it make sense? A proven pivian that is wanting to do social channels?

It's not a problem. People who are trusted and want access, get access. They just need to ask.

The priority should be growing the Turkish community. Not creating new graphics. But, graphics that are created by @talhatr should be available for others to translate too.

Also, @talhatr already helps with official social channels by liking and reposting etc. to the Turkish social channels he controls. As I have said recently a couple of times, anyone can help with official socials by viewing, liking, reposting, and engaging with them. They don't have to ask.
