Abstract:

This proposal covers the extensive deliverables for brand development, auditing, and UX/UI work across the entire PIVX ecosystem to achieve within three months.

Overview:

The goal towards the completion of this proposal is, to create a solid, consistent, and clear branding for PIVX that is reflective throughout each element within the PIVX ecosystem, including apps, websites, community, and entirety of the ecosystem. After receiving messages from developers and PIVX members bringing to my attention to the severity of the inconsistency throughout the ecosystem and after personally reviewing, I decided to draft a plan to create a more outlined plan and assessment to solve these issues. To further elaborate, if we remove unnecessary parts, clarify the vision, and reflect this through all channels the community, products, and entire ecosystem will be more unified.

Deliverables (Phases)

The first step is (1) creating a map of the entire PIVX ecosystem to (2) evaluate what parts are still used and relevant and then to (3) remove all unnecessary parts that are and have no longer been used, out-of-date, and become irrelevant (this will require approval/consensus on behalf of the DAO). This includes no broken links or out-of-service products and opens up discussions on what should be active vs. archived. Once we have identified clearly what parts no longer serve the PIVX mission or are simply defunded, outdated, and so forth, we can now have a more clear picture of how the DAO is operating and where adjustments and reprioritization should occur. This process is not just about removing and pruning, but also opens up clear pathways for new projects to begin or to have more attention and resources shared.

Phase 1 - Audit

1. PIVX Ecosystem Map

Primarily intended for internal use, but of course will be accessible to the public. This map requires a deep scan to see what all pieces are a part of the PIVX ecosystem in order to further evaluate their impact and relevance. Personal findings will be shared and reported through the appropriate channels for assessment by the team, confirming the accuracy and consensus required for approval to move forward. Afterwards, this can be used as a map or legend for anyone referencing the PIVX ecosystem, especially for active DAO participants.

2. Evaluation

This stage will be a process of finding, sharing, consulting, gathering feedback, and updating reported findings and evaluation. I would like to highlight that a lot of this evaluation will be based on active and past stats, engagement, and results. Data-driven is the key word in this equation.

3. Organize & Optimize

Remove any unnecessary links, projects, channels, and all sorts of "distractions" that will deter users from understanding PIVX more clearly. There is a term called "decision fatigue" that refers to the psychological process of a person being overwhelmed by having too many choices, that in more cases than none they end up doing nothing because they don't know where to begin. The goal once again is to simplify the brand messaging and user experience—this of course has to be approved of by the team and some actions will need to be executed by the team as I don't have direct access or credentials to execute. It is also an option to Archive certain elements if the consensus is to keep them for record keeping, but store them in a more orderly and organized fashion.

Phase 2 - Branding

Branding has long been established for PIVX and the last brand revamp and guide I personally did was in 2020. It may be time to revisit this, but for the sake of time and resources I would like to shift the focus more on refining the vision, mission, and core values to be reflected through all aspects of the ecosystem. PIVX already has hours of work in creating different core protocols, apps, tools, and managing its public presence through social media.

1. Refining Vision, Mission, and Core Values

Redefine the PIVX vision, mission, and values to be more clearly reflected through the brand. I will create as many suggestions as necessary to ultimately come to a confident consensus from the DAO that this is a clear representation of PIVX without straying from its foundational values. The goal is not to change the branding, but to adapt it more towards both the current times as well as the state of the ecosystem and DAO. A lot of this process will be working with relevant and active contributors in the PIVX ecosystem, including team, marketing, business development, and so forth.

2. Update Brand Identity Guide for 2026

After step one is completed, I plan to organize and expand upon the current Brand Identity Guide going deeper into the mission and what the brand represents outside of just its technology offerings. It is time again that PIVX needs a brand refresh, maintaining its relevance and impact. I am not planning for any major core design changes, but more so the conveyance of the new messaging and bringing PIVX into the modern times and future. This will directly affect the PIVX Style Guide in step 3. To check the last updated Brand Identity Guide I crafted in 2020 with the help of PIVXs original brand designer(s), visit the links at the bottom.

3. Create an Official PIVX Style Guide

As it stands, PIVX does not have an official style guide for all of the website and application development largely due to contributors from around the world often doing the best of their abilities, but lacked the right tools to clearly guide them to help remain consistent with the branding. A brand identity guide is very different from a style guide, though they share similar elements and the style guide will use the brand identity guide as the foundation to build on. I already have plans to work with what we have, I will not do PIVX an injustice by doing everything from scratch and requiring unnecessary work and resources from the DAO or its contributors. For example, this will most likely refer to everything in PIVX besides PIVX Core wallet as that is an entirely separate job and task, though it will be factored in.

Phase 3 - UX/UI

1. Implement Updated Branding & Style Guide
Strategically begin implementing these changes throughout the ecosystem, largely starting with the top priority parts identified in Phase 0, PIVX Ecosystem Map. Once identified, I will begin designing mockups with easily readable changes with appropriate elements and stylizations making it easy to follow and update for those that have access and permissions to those resources and platforms. A lot of this work will be working closely with the PIVX Labs team and any other developers responsible for maintaining PIVX's platforms, apps, and tools.

Final Notes by Author:

I don't think this type of role or position ever reaches a finish line, but my goal is to help solidify the foundation for PIVX to confidently move into 2026 staying relevant to the times, especially as privacy has hit its peak awareness. It really is an on-going job to maintain, but I want to make sure the pillars are in place that if neither myself nor a single individual is available that having access to these tools and guides everyone will stand a better chance at being on the same page and output will be more aligned and consistent. The biggest challenges with global DAOs are communication and everyone really staying focused in their lane—it's easy to have your head down and focused on your task and lose the greater sense of direction. I have been an active contributor in the PIVX ecosystem for many years, hopping in and out to check on things, and it seems it is that time again to check up on everyone in different fields and see how we can coordinate together more efficiently. Hence, that is why I drafted this proposal. Any questions, please comment below on the forum or send DMs on Vector.
